  • Conclusion: For the budget minded users, the HP Pavilion dv7t and the Gateway NV79 are godsends. The Gateway NV7901u offers a large display, the newest Core CPU, a built-in DVD drive and strong dedicated graphics power, all under $1,000. Sure it’s over 7 pounds, but the notebook looks modern and it’s pretty thin for a 17.3” beast.
  • Pros: Good graphics power, nice looking machine., Pro: Good graphics power, nice looking machine.
  • Cons: Not much of a useful software bundle, some bloatware., Con: Not much useful software bundle, some bloatware.

Gateway NV7901u Review

LAPTOP Magazine
26 March 2010
  • Summary: If you can deal with its stiff touch button and reflective display, the $849 Gateway NV7901u is a strong choice for people who want a notebook with a screen large enough to multitask and watch movies. And it has the power to play most of the latest games. The Acer 5740G , which has the same specs and offers slightly better framerates for $749, may seem like the better deal, we'd give the edge to the Gateway, which has a larger and a higher resolution screen.
