Summary: I bought a Gateway NV55S in Sept '11 - nearly identical specs as this model except it has an AMD processor. I've taken it all over the world (literally)and used it as a desk top replacement for a full year. It just keeps chugging along, I love it. Haven't had any major problems.
Summary: I have sent it in to be fixed 4 times. Luckily, I had bought an extra warranty. The last time I had it in to be fixed through Gateway they said nothing was wrong. 2 weeks later sent it to other warranty service and they had to replace the hard drive. Poor service, bad computer. So disappointed.
Summary: At first I was delighted with all power bells and whistles of this NV55C. I have 5 computers so I did not spend a lot of time on this one at first. When I isolated it to take for travel I have been very disappointed since. The keyboard is a nightmare.
Summary: I received my laptop last August as a gift from my bf and so far its been really good to me:) . Aside from the sloooow-ness which is probably being caused by my internet security haha (needa upgrade that) it is working just like the first day I got it but hey who knows it's only been 6 months.
Summary: Have owned this laptop for about a year; maybe I should be happy it lasted that long but I have a Dell that has outlasted both this Gateway and an HP. Had the same problem that others have seemed to have, the screen keeps losing its picture and color (it happened twice in the time it took me to...
Summary: I am in love with this laptop. I didn't get this from amazon, but I do have one. The only issue I have with it is the speakers arn't as good as i would like. Other than that this laptop is totally reliable.
Summary: Great value for the money. I am not a computer whiz. Really like the built in features, including the 10-key pad, camera, and also the port that allows me to insert my digital camera's memory card. Used Skype for the first time- microphone and camera worked excellent.
