Excerpt: The Gateway NV53 has surpassed in quality any other lap top I've used. It's an uncomplicated product that would be excellent to use for a newbie to a computer techie. With the Blu-ray disc player included, the 15.6" inch size HD screen is fantastic to watch movies on. I love my Gateway.
Excerpt: Going back to school after be out for awhile is always a challenge. My gateway has made it alot easier. I have all my reports, homework, portfolio, files all seperated from my at home just messing around on the computer stuff. It is so easy to set up and I love having to the update alerts. seriously who has the time to go around looking for updates on all the programs. who would want to. Thank you Gateway!
Excerpt: I used to be a dell girl but then I found out that the completely suck. I purchased my first gateway a few months ago and I couldn't be happier. The battery lasts for a long time, the screen is big enough for what I need, it moves super fast and you can have multiple windows open to multitask which is something that I do all of the time. I was also really happy with the number pad that they put on the side of the keyboard.
Excerpt: I do love this laptop, but hate the problems that I have been having. I got this computer in April/May 2010. I have had the same problems that most everyone has had with W7 and IE8. However, the problems have continued and could possibly be memory(ram) or heating issues. System throws shut down error messages and then shuts down and restarts. I have been working with Gateway to resolve issues, but shipping can be costly.
Excerpt: I got this system one year ago. For around $500 dollars, the spec. for this laptop was better than those $700 dollar Sony laptops at Best Buy. However there are indeed drawbacks. I'm going to list this with Pro&Cons with a little detail along. Pros: -Windows 7, 64bit computer! Windows 7 is just amazing. -AMD graphics card. Non of those crappy intel graphic cards you get with most regular laptops around this price. -A full numberpad on the keyboard.
Excerpt: I went shopping for my first laptop and looked at many. At first I was looking by price but the associate at best buy recommended the Gateway. I loved the way it looked it the store but it was a bit pricey. MAN, I am so happy I choose to buy the Gateway NV53. I love everything about it. First, The screen is awesome, is glossy LED and very crystal clear. It has Dolby surround sound and movies look so clean on it. I have plenty of RAM with 4 gb.
Excerpt: I've had this Gateway NV53 laptop PC for almost a year now and I can never get off it.It has evrything I want in a laptop.500 GB and 4 G memory. It has a webcam and a muti in 1 card reader so that you can download all your pictures or favorite songs off your cell phones, digital cameras and MP-3 players. It's a pretty soft touch keyboard.I find it very easy to navigate.I have Windows Media Player which not only stores my personal info, pictures, etc..
Great computer for the Money! But get rid of Win7!

Excerpt: Have had computer for about 2 weeks and love it. Great look and runs fast as well. Can handle anything I put at it. I use it mainly for photoshop, internet, and skype. I have no complaints about it, except Windows 7. Several times a day my internet gets frozen and I see a not responding message. After doing some web research, this seems to be a common Windows 7 problem, not a Gateway problem. Too bad every new computer out there is equipped with Windows 7.
Excerpt: My husband bought me the Gateway NV53A24u Laptop computer to replace my HP boat anchor. We were looking for something that was reasonably priced to suite me until we could manage to save up enough for a high end laptop. When I first started using the computer, I noticed that my typing was not always appearing on the screen. Some letter would have to get pushed harder and the space bar would not register.
Excerpt: Ok this laptop is pretty awesome when it comes to upgrading. I was able to slap in a amd M620 cpu without a hitch. The memory I am not sure if this can support 8gb but is worth an effort. It has a dvdrw gigabit lan which works really well. also an hdmi output which is great for adding a tv monitor to it. I am not able to find important features like disassembly of this but after looking on youtube this is identicle to the NV52 actually.
