Excerpt: Last summer we took a look at the NV series from Gateway. We found them to be affordable, quality laptops, albeit a bit bulky. This time around, we’re taking a look at the LT2118u netbook from Gateway which was announced earlier this year at CES. Featuring Intel’s Pinetrail processors, how does the LT2118u stack up against its competition?
Pros: Excellent battery life (up to 10 hours), Portable (2.76 lbs), Powerful (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N450 Processor, 1 GB RAM)
Cons: Windows 7 Starter Edition, No reinstall disk included
Conclusion: The Gateway LT2118u wins with its elegant design on the exterior and the expandable memory and accessible hard drive on the interior. The Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail update gives the Gateway much longer battery life. And it handles most applications that you would want to use on a netbook well; applications like MS Works, IE, music playback and video streaming.
