Summary: Bought this for my mum several months ago. The only thing she's had trouble with is windows 8 as it's not as intuitive to use as Windows 7 was and sometimes jumps around the screen, e.g. randomly deleting text. Very frustrating! The PC itself is great for web surfing and watching videos which is mainly what it was bought for. The HDMI link plays well on the Panasonic Viera TV and DVD player works perfectly. Sound is better than on my 4 year old Samsung.
Summary: Bought laptop for my daughter for college. The internal speakers stopped working after a few days use. She phoned the helpline and after 30 minutes on the phone to them and 2 reboots later it eventually worked. Apparently it was some issue with Windows 8 compatibility, Otherwise laptop seems to be very good - but it's early days yet...
Summary: This. Laptop has very good specs. for the money and is well put together (ie.sturdy) although aesthetically the black matt plastic finish is a little basic, that can be overlooked at the price. It starts reasonably quickly, and requires signing in to an email account to access the App window for Windows 8, which usefully notifies of any Mail, News Events, Weather, etc. without having to Google.
Summary: This is a very cheap laptop for what you are getting. The build quality is a bit flimsy but not too bad, the screen looks a little washed out and the styling is fairly bland. But you are getting a fairly fast processor with a graphics core that can play older games fairly well for a very good price. I replaced the hard drive with a spare SSD I had available which makes it very responsive.
