Eurocom Monster 1.0 11.6" Gaming Notebook Review

HotHardware
13 August 2012
  • Excerpt: When Eurocom sent us their latest gaming notebook for evaluation, we expected the usual huge, heavy machine with obscenely powerful components inside. It’s even called the “Monster”, which seems to indicate a particularly beastly rig.
  • Pros: Superb portability, Good battery life, Solid build quality, Mostly excellent components, Quiet operation
  • Cons: Relatively weak GPU, Unimpressive display, Uncomfortable touchpad

LAPTOP Magazine

  • Summary: The Eurocom Monster proves that you can get an 11-inch notebook with serious gaming muscle. This pricey but very capable $1,444 mini rig can play the latest titles and go with you anywhere, and the built-in SSD adds an extra dose of speed. However, the keyboard feels netbookish, and we wish the display were brighter. Despite these drawbacks, the Monster is an impressive little powerhouse.
  • Pros: Great gaming performance, Lightning-fast SSD, Soft-touch finish makes system easy to grip
  • Cons: Relatively dim display, Keyboard feels cramped, Short battery life

ZDNet
5 July 2012
  • Summary: Summary: This 11.6in. notebook is an outstanding performer. It's not particularly lightweight or attractive, but the specification is top-notch and the screen, keyboard and touchpad are all perfectly usable. Plenty of professionals will be keen to get their hands on this system, if they can stomach the price tag.
  • Pros: Outstanding performance, Decent keyboard and touchpad, Matte screen
  • Cons: Conservative styling, Moderate battery life, No optical drive, Expensive
