Summary: My experience with this machine is as with any other. I actually purchased it to start a radio show, along with a few hard drives, externals, SATA and IDE. This machine is nice, i was looking for one w/o a camera and this one came with. it's the only thing that i'd change about it. other than that it's a nice machine. i do recommend to anyone in the market for a lightweight machine.
Summary: This is seriously the perfect laptop for a college student! I'm so happy with this purchase! It was easy to upgrade the operating system and even added new ram for a really good price. overall this was a dependable and reliable little BIG machine.
Excerpt: I bought an emachine for the price. I read the reviews on it but decided I would use for at least two years and get another machine if i needed to replace. I love that has the numeric keypad that a lot of the other machines didn't have. Less than a month after I got it, the screen cracked. Since it had a warranty I called the manufacturer who told me that as far as they were concerned it was user error so they would only replace it for $200 plus shipping.
Excerpt: I am not a tech genius by any means. but with this netbook I can definately feel like it. For my needs I did not need anything big or bulky. I just use it to surf the web, play a few games and chit chat with my friends. This netbook is so portable, where as laptops are huge. This netbook weighs less than 3 pounds and is something you can carry around anywhere. The keyboard had great sized keys and Im never worried about hitting a different letter.
Excerpt: I have never owned a laptop. I have a desktop that I use mostly, and have never really had a need for a laptop. However, I decided to try out a netbook so that I could use it to message my friends while I watched TV, and so that I could take it with me when I travel. I mostly use it for games, checking email, and instant messaging. I love it. It was one of the best items I have ever purchased.
Excerpt: I am a stay at home mom, that just recently started doing some serious couponing. (thats a word in my world) I was on our main computer all the time but needed a laptop to be able to get on and quickly access the internet. The Emachine I ordered from Best Buy for around 200 dollars was a computer I came across buy was apprehensive to purchase thinking that the quality would be compromised because of the price being so low. For what I needed this computer for I was wrong.
Excerpt: This has been a great little computer (going on 2 years) with no real complaints. The Atom 1.6 is a bit slow, but barely uses any energy compared to other processors. The upgrade to 2gb ram from the stock 1gb was a good move. Readyboost is ok, and the sd card reader is nice feature (kinda makes up for lack of drive), but limited (3) on usb slots. Easy to connect to larger monitor and speakers, and good wireless connectivity.
Excerpt: I've had it for about a month now-- I read the other reviews-- some of them are clearly not about this Acer clone-- the machine does not have a numeric keypad-- anyway, it runs Windows 7 fine and after reloading the base OS it is very snappy netbook with a low cost. Also it's perfect for OSx86 because unlike the 450's chipset-- the GMA950 is compatible. I recommending adding more memory.
Excerpt: I purchaced my e-machine on or about Jan20th. I got incarcerated the next day for 3 months.. Mind you no one has acsess to this while I'm away. I get out April 14... It electronicaly fried itself by the 17th of may..
