Summary: I purchased this ultrabook to check emails on-the-go, and to do some basic MSOffice work. I had problems as soon as I turned it on. Initial setup was Ok, but it could not connect to my wireless router. I was sitting 6 feet from the router, and had a strong connection. It would not recognize my wireless password. I was about ready to give up then, after 30 minutes, it connected to my router.
Summary: Bought March 2014. Wanted a convertible with a keyboard (I type a LOT) and tablet for planes, presentations, etc. Price-to-value ratio was very, very good. Older i5 processor is fine for 90% of what I need to do. Edit huge databases on an overpowered Dell desktop. The trackpad is TERRIBLE. Very hard to click accurately without focusing on the pad ... but I need to focus on the WORK. Contrast w/ trackpad on Surface which is much better.
Summary: I have had two of these. Both have been returned to Dell within a few months. Foolishly I bought the second one thinking the first was a one off end of Friday model...they were both terrible. When they work they are brilliant. However, from first use the touch pad didn't work properly (on both) I had to use the mouse button to select things.
Summary: I hate my Dell xps12. I've been working with it (trying to make it work) for months now and every time I try to make a simple application (like taking a picture with the built it camera obviously visible in the screen) I have to find an app to download to make it work, with no explanation or indication what app to download or where to download it from.
Summary: I love it at fist, but it really has problem with wifi connecting and has ghost images on the screen (of previous web page). The track pad is also fluctuated, many time i can not control it. I m going to replace it by another one, but I really worry about the same problems with this laptop.
Simply not a good product - don't reward Dell by purchasing it.

Summary: I seldom write reviews because most products are simply in the middle the curve in terms of quality, and are usually well-covered by other reviewers. In this case, however, I'm going to write something to try to warn other potential buyers of this product about its gross shortcomings. First, I will mention a couple of mildly positive aspects. The build quality of the machine is quite good, and it is very light.
Summary: This is the worst computer on the market. Less than 24 hours after I received the laptop, it overheated and wouldn't turn on for 6-7 hours. The touchscreen rarely, if ever works. The preinstalled applications fail. The list goes on an on. Do not buy this laptop.
