Summary: Well alot of people on here seem to not comprehend what customized is. A 2.0 cpu with a 7900 gs vid card n 2 gigs of ram with a 100gig drive is "not" customized. The farthest you can take this model and this is fyi the world's "first" overclockable laptop I carried one with during my years in Europe and mine was customized. I had the t7600g overclockable cpu running at 3.16 a 7950 gtx overclcoked beyond belief.
No way would I ever deal with this no count in the future.

Summary: I ordered the laptop to replace an identical one I have that broke down. (blue screen of death, apparently a mother board problem.) When I received the one from Monitorminster I noticed the screen was a bit weak but useable. Also there was no Windows 7 operating system CD provided. I tried calling Franz Hale of Monitorminster but the phone was disconnected. Number was provided on the shipping label (386)256-6828.
Summary: Bought for my 14 year old son as his first gaming computer. He is loving it. Graphics are great and is really fast. Definitely a good price for gaming computer and used is the route to go for his age.
Nvidia GPU is crap, but an ATi X1400 GPU from an Inspiron 9400 fixes that.

Summary: I give this laptop a five star rating but must qualify that opinion. I bought my XPS M1710 in late 08 used and it has worked flawlessly ever since. EXCEPT for the lousy NVidia 7900 GTX GPU (graphics card). Beginning in early 2010, the GPU dropped dead and I went through two identical, eBay, used NVidia cards (new from Dell was not available) in very short order. A good deal of online research produced volumns of complaints from other M1710 owners with the same problem.
Summary: Love this computer. Have one we bought new in 2006, still a better gaming computer than most new laptops selling new unless you plan to spend over $2500. Bought this as a backup to take on the road.
