Summary: Since the Blu-ray combo was not included, I had purchase a Blu-ray disc drive, the software, and installation after I received the computer. This product has had endless technical issues, and just recently has stopped working completely.

Summary: I bought this computer in 2011 and have had nothing but trouble with it. Almost every piece of it has been replaced at least once. I have had three keyboards, and I still have trouble with typing. I have had to reformat the hard drive three times, because Dell techs couldn't figure out what was wrong. I decided recently that I wanted to upgrade the hard drive from 500gb to 750gb, and I thought I would be getting a faster hard drive.

Summary: My old Dell 8600 was on it's way out so I was looking for the next machine to replace it. I keep my computer for a long time, so I wanted to get the best I could get. I also didn't plan on carrying it around, so I wanted a large screen size. This machine looked like it fit the bill. First, the machine started out really well. It is fast. The hi res panel is pretty nice. The video card is pretty good too. My initial impressions were all good.
Summary: I loved this laptop at first- the screen looked beautiful and the colors are rich. Then sitting in my office, simply pulling down in the top left corner of the screen to close it, I heard a "crunch." The screen cracked, so now I have a big black mark with horizontal and vertical lines in the top left of the screen. Dell's answer is "sorry, screen damage isn't covered under warranty." I didn't abuse it, drop it, or do anything to void the warranty, but they won't fix it.
Summary: It's been 1 day and my power supply stopped working. I called customer care but it's going to take almost 1 week to replace it. and my laptop battery died right now so I cannot use it anymore. I googled it and I found that there are a lot of people who has same issue. Never buy this and never trust dell.
Summary: I bought a Dell XPS 17 directly from Dell. It came with a defective screen. So I called Dell. The screen replacement was on back order, but they said they could ship me a replacement computer with identical specs immediately. I received the replacement computer just two days later. Unfortunately the replacement computer had severely downgraded specifications. 900p screen instead of the 1080p screen, i7-2630 processor instead of i7-2720, gt550m graphics instead of gt555m.
