Summary: I didn't buy my laptop on Amazon, I bought it from Dell around April 2012. Now over 2 years later I still love my laptop. It still runs quietly and quickly. All my buttons still work and my battery still runs well. I still get about 3-4 hours of solid surfing and streaming time before I start charging it. It charges fairly quickly even while you're on it. One of the things I really love about this laptop is the sound.
Summary: I don't know what some of these people who are saying the hardware and the build quality is poor are talking about. I have two of these computers and both of them are still running fast and smooth and I have never had to replace any parts on either of them. They are the most reliable computers I have ever had.
Great laptop overall, with some irritating problems that emerge after longer use.

Summary: Alright I'm going to give this laptop an honest review because I have actually owned and tested this laptop for over two years now. I will have to say that is a remarkable laptop, but overheating is huge issue with this laptop. This laptop is without question a desktop replacement as a cooling pad is required if you plan on doing any type of gaming/processor heavy work.

Summary: Since the Blu-ray combo was not included, I had purchase a Blu-ray disc drive, the software, and installation after I received the computer. This product has had endless technical issues, and just recently has stopped working completely.
Dell computers are not the wonderful buys they used to be

Summary: I bought this computer in 2011 and have had nothing but trouble with it. Almost every piece of it has been replaced at least once. I have had three keyboards, and I still have trouble with typing. I have had to reformat the hard drive three times, because Dell techs couldn't figure out what was wrong. I decided recently that I wanted to upgrade the hard drive from 500gb to 750gb, and I thought I would be getting a faster hard drive.
Summary: PROS: Display is nice, weight not too bad, keyboard is good, speakers are awesome CONS: Extremely unreliable, battery not great, track pad not good, and some serious hardware issues OVERALL: This product is not worth your money. When I bought it, it wouldn't play dvd's. Had to waste hours of my time dealing with completely lame customer service to get it fixed. Even after that, problems continued to pile up, conveniently right after the warranty ran out.
could've been great - things keeping getting worse

Summary: My old Dell 8600 was on it's way out so I was looking for the next machine to replace it. I keep my computer for a long time, so I wanted to get the best I could get. I also didn't plan on carrying it around, so I wanted a large screen size. This machine looked like it fit the bill. First, the machine started out really well. It is fast. The hi res panel is pretty nice. The video card is pretty good too. My initial impressions were all good.
Summary: Dell Xps is a really good product to buy. i bought mine 9 months ago through Dell. I7-2640 Cpu @ 2.80GHz with a turbo boost of 3.5, 8 gigs of ram, terabyte of memory, burns and plays blue ray 3D, nvidia Geforce GT 555m and will play almost any game max settings. Music is amazing with the jbl speakers and little sub. Great machine..everyone should own!
Summary: I loved this laptop at first- the screen looked beautiful and the colors are rich. Then sitting in my office, simply pulling down in the top left corner of the screen to close it, I heard a "crunch." The screen cracked, so now I have a big black mark with horizontal and vertical lines in the top left of the screen. Dell's answer is "sorry, screen damage isn't covered under warranty." I didn't abuse it, drop it, or do anything to void the warranty, but they won't fix it.
