Dell XPS 15-L502X (Intel Core i7-2630

CNET
19 April 2014
  • Summary: Equipped with second-gen Intel Core i-series CPUs and improved Nvidia graphics, the new Dell XPS 15 performs even better than its predecessor, although it's still just as bulky. Also, keep in mind that the XPS 15 ranges greatly in price, from $799 up to $1,500.
  • Cons: The extremely bulky, uninspired design of the XPS 15 doesn't suit its price, and though the battery life is very good, it's not as great as Apple's MacBook Pro. Some configuration options feel like they should have been included for free.

Dell XPS 15z

CNET
19 April 2014
  • Summary: Claiming to be the world's thinnest Windows laptop, the Dell XPS 15z is a sharp-looking package with upgradable high-end features and a reasonable $999 starting price.
  • Cons: It's still not thinner than the 15-inch MacBook Pro, and in our high-end $1,500 configuration, we'd expect longer battery life and a better GPU.

Higher-res display and graphics in the slim Dell XPS 15

CNET
12 May 2013
  • Summary: The Dell XPS 15 takes on Apple's MacBook Pro with Retina Display in almost every category, even beating it in a few. But for such a hefty investment, a design overhaul is in order.
  • Cons: Painfully expensive for a boring design and midlevel graphics, and going SSD-only drives the price up even more. Battery life falls short for an ultrabook-style system.

Dell XPS 15

THE INQUIRER
12 August 2012
  • Conclusion: The Dell XPS 15 is by far one of the best laptops we have tested in a long time. It's hard to fault, as its weaknesses - which are few - aren't too significant. For example, the trackpad taking some getting used to will become irrelevant after time, and the chassis being prone to scratches can be preventable if you look after the laptop properly and buy a protective carry case.
  • Pros: Flawless performance, premium design, great keyboard.
  • Cons: Chassis is prone to scratches, trackpad takes a little getting used to., Price tag.

Dell XPS 15 L501x review

Stuff.tv
19 May 2011
  • Summary: Beneath the aluminium cladding and custom touch sensitive function bar of the latest Dell XPS is one of the new Sandybridge processors from Intel. The new i5 CPU actually performs better than the older i7, and we’ll even go as far as to say this is about as fast as you’ll ever need a laptop to be, unless you’re into video editing or image manipulation on the move. Sonic power The XPS isn’t just about some extra CPU slickness either though.
