Dell customer service is so cumbersome, you'll just give up on trying to get things fixed

Summary: I have had two persistent problems with my XPS 14z. The first one is related to projecting images - for whatever reason projecting images on both the laptop and a projection screen is not possible. The second is related to my wireless network adapter. It is very fickle, and I need to disconnect/connect to my home wireless internet sometimes ten times a day to keep it working. That while all other wireless devices (my husband's laptop, iPad...) are working fine.
Summary: I ordered this laptop because it was descripted as 'new'. I know that all dell new laptops come with 1 year warranty. I got a product and went to the dell websit to register. The website shows that my laptop was shipped since last May (2011). The warranty has began from that day and will be expired in feb 2013 which is around 7 months. The 1 year renew warranty for a basic drop off plan will cost 199 ! I contacted Amzon immediately.
Summary: The laptop is fine but Dell is a disaster. I have had a technical question that I have made 20 (YES TWENTY) phonecalls, sent 12 emails, complained to three managers and am still unable to get my question answered. The last phone call last 1hr40 minutes and despite repeated commitments to reply DELL has NEVER responded. Don't even think about a dell product unless if you expect after sale service.
Summary: - you wonder how anything like this gets past first level marketing or user testing. What copy writer or programmer wants to hit two keys to pgup/pgdn, or three keys to highlight a line. Stop removing keys from the keyboard, it's still a standard way to use a computer. People don't all use mice. It simply makes the laptop unusable - RETURNED!
Pros: Glossy Screen, lighter weight, good size screen, stylish.
Cons: Keyboard, Keyboard, Keyboard. The 14z/15z without a proper PgUp, PgDn, Home and End Key? Press THREE keys to highlight a line. It's beyond a bad idea.
Summary: From a former many year Dell fan, I have been extremely disappointed that support has gone downhill, and now seems to be oriented toward squeezing you for additional paid support contracts even when you have a multi-year warrantee. Incidentally, I am a very technically savvy computer user.
Cons: Within the warranty period I had my heat sink replaced. Months after it I have the same issue and they say I have to pay for resolving the issue. My system crashes every few hours and hurting my business!
Summary: First of all would like to say I have used this and the 15z XPS My impressions are well. The Quality of dell are meh, their laptops will only last you a year before they start dying for the year I've had better laptops in the past last me 7 years. Back when Alienware used to be decent. Now both names are down the toilet. The overall speed and quality varies with daily use, I personally use it to play games browse the web watch movies.
