Summary: Laptop is good but combination of windows 8 with this laptop makes it pathetic . After each 2-3 days the system goes into a mode (Preparing Window) where it becomes difficult to re-boot it again and you need to re-install window on the machine . I would recommend to purchase laptop only if windows 8 issue is resolved .
Summary: computer runs very slow and has trouble staying online and sometimes does not recognize wireless connections available...this product was refurbised and definitely needs to be refurbised again.i have sent this product back and the seller has accepted it.i do appreciate the ease of returning a product that did not meet expectations but i will only buy products that are new from now on
Summary: I bought this Dell to replace my MacBook Pro. It had good specs for the price and sleek design. While it looks great out of the box, I've since experienced frequent crashes and blue screens for no apparent reason. Ultimately, this is a hardware issue. I use only basic programs like Office and iTunes, yet I've experienced at least half a dozen blue screens in the 10 weeks since I bought it.
Summary: I wound up returning this laptop for a refund. I tried the usual things like rebooting and updating the software. It still froze practically everyday. That's what usually happens when my computers get old. It is not what I would expect from a brand new machine! I'm glad I was able to get my money back. Also, I found it kind of thick and heavy for an ultrabook. Still, I wish it would've worked. The price was great.
Summary: First the touchpad is very bad. Always back to top (jump) when i scroll 2 fingers in any page. Second I spent about 6 hours troubleshooting a Rapid Start technologie... My Laptop dont start because the system say "NO OPERATIVE SYSTEM...." My solution was disable this function. Finally the firewall (antivirus McAfee) don't start. I'm unprotected. Recomendation: Don't buy this laptop.
Summary: The product did not come with a 32GB Solid State drive for OS and Programs (as advertised). It is also significantly heavier than advertised. Also, the overall size, compared to the XPS 13.3in, is much, much larger - even though one would not expect it to be nearly that large. For some people, this very large screen would be desirable. For me, far from it. I wanted something smaller, but not quite as small as the 13.3. Extremely disappointed in this purchase.
Summary: I have a normal dell inspiron 14 inch. I like it better than this one for the following reasons: 1. Its lighter, alot lighter. 2. It has a right and left click button. This one the XPS has no right and left click buttons and its really hard to right click anything. 3. The screen is not made of glass or whatever this one is made of. Feels like the screen could shatter on this one. So I am sending it back and getting another regular Dell Inspiron.
Summary: Even if we put the battery for 8 hours of charge, It is charging for only 95% and NOT CHARGING 100 PER CENT. However, I am not satisfied with the performance and the new DELL battery does not solve the purpose.
Summary: Initially, I loved my XPS14. The honeymoon did end soon after buying it last year. The machine performs well; however, I've had numerous problems during the past 11 months. This summer, had to completely re-install windows. System went to pot and could not be recovered. Speaker output is terrible. My Android phone pushes my speakers way better than the Dell. Last week, the screen brightness control was lost.
