The 14-inch display doesn't offer the world's highest resolution (it's 1,366 by 768), but it's sunny and sharp, washday-white at its highest brightness setting and pretty good even with brightness dialed down by one-third to one-half for the sake of battery savings. Colors are vivid and fine details are clear. Read more

This is a nice sized, power packed laptop. core i5, 4gb ram and 500gb hard drive is great. The weight is tolerable and battery lasts 2.5 to 3 hrs. BTW, Just few issues to note. I think its more of a software kind than the hardware. The Fingerprint scanner does not get initialized when you put the computer to standby few times. Screen flickers when changing from performance to normal mode when charger is disconnected. Read more

Pros: Portable, lightweight, i3 processor. Cons: Bought this laptop 9 months ago. Since then had the harddisk whistling and had been getting around five to six blue screen errors. Technical support is not like it used to be with my emails left unreplied. Had only one time received a reply about the whistling but of no real help. Confusing warranty. When contacted Dell Malaysia, I was asked to contact Dell UK about my problem. Read more

  • 14" Display - is it too small for long time working?

Display wise, is 3400 or 3500 better for long time working? i.e is 14" display too small to work for long?

    Answered by ablanton 2011-01-18:

I have had 15" display for years, and got the 14" 3400 and honestly cannot tell that much of a difference unless they are side-by-side, or I have been using one and switch to the other. It is perfectly serviceable, and is so much lighter and nimble feeling that it is well worth

  • Quality feedback for Dell Vostro 3400

Dear experts, May I know so far is there any problems or negatives feedback from users for Dell Vostro 3400? I'm looking for laptop and come across this Dell Vostro 3400. I feel the spec is quite good but I'm not sure about the quality. Can you please advice. Looking forward for your advice. Thank you

    Answered by ablanton 2011-01-18:

You probably got something by now, but I have had the 3400 for 6 months now and have been very pleased.
