Summary: I currently own the Dell XPS 14 Z with i7 intel for almost over four years and with my experience having had both XPS 13z & XPS 14z computers, I can tell you that the XPS of Dell is among one of the top quality computers. I never had any issues with either of them and I am considering again to Purchase another XPS 13 for myself. Dell's best computer is XPS which comes with high quality parts in comparison to other Dell brands.
Summary: Have had this laptop for 1 day. Got it as a warehous deal for $697.00. It was 35% off an open box. It looks/feels brand new however. The good: so far I am loving the computer, there are a few items I don't like but considering the price and specs I am super happy with the deal. The things I don't like: The glossy screen, I will probably get used to this but I find myself noting reflections on the screen while browsing/watching videos.
Summary: After having this laptop for a week, here are my thoughts: For a 1000$ laptop, it should not be having issues such as coil whine or trackpad jumping. When the backlight is on, there is an absolutely annoying coil whine that does not get better. Even at times when the backlight is off, but the cpu is at the slightest load, the coil whine returns. This, in my mind, is absolutely pathetic for such an expensive laptop.
Summary: This is a great ultrabook, something I have been looking for. The skeleton of this book is smaller than Mac book air. Boots up in like 4 seconds, thanks to the solid state drive. I am still getting use to Windows8 but it's not bad. Very easy to carry and comes with 1 year Dell warranty. The speakers on ultrabook are great and have clear and loud sound. The touch screen is pretty smooth and dell has done an excellent job in making this device.
