Nice little laptop.

  • Summary: Added this to my company's laptop fleet for a highly mobile sales and product support guy running AutoCAD 2013 and Inventor 2013. Ordered extra 4GB of RAM thinking I'd stick it in the two slots under the keyboard. WRONG. Ended up having to order a 8GB kit and replace the existing RAM altogether. The i7 equipped versions don't have this issue, I've read. In any case, this is a nice little laptop and probably more than most people really need for the road.
  • Pros: Well-built, easy to work on, solid hardware, excellent AMD GPU
  • Cons: Really a dual-core, RAM slots under the keyboard are hardware disabled (figured this out the hard way), regular HDD feels slow now that I'm used to SSD's in most everything else

Precision says it all

  • Pros: This is the most beautiful machine I have ever owned. It truly lives up to the "Precision" nameplate.
  • Cons: 1. It is a brick, and does not have the modern svelte and sleek look. Feel free to come brag to me in 3 years if your machine is still alive.

Highly Recommended!

  • Summary: This is a machine I highly recommend for other power users to buy. The high capacity of the processors and of the memory allow me to simultaneously work on several resource-intensive applications without sacrificing throughput. It is definitely a welcome change from the Lenovo X201 I have been using not just because of its higher power rating, but also because of the screen width and resolution.
