Summary: The refurbished Windows 7 license allowed an upgrade to Windows 10 (familiarizing myself with this on a "spare" computer was one of the main reasons for buying this unit). Unfortunately the Windows 10 install crashed leaving me looking at a blank screen.
Pros: Technical specification exactly as advertised, everything worked, keyboard and screen in very good condition and the windows install on the HD included all the latest drivers. Nice computer for the money.
Cons: Very old version of the BIOS which proved to be a pain to upgrade as the Dell BIOS upgrades would not run in Windows, required formatting a USB stick with Rufus and then using this to upgrade to the latest BIOS in two steps (A09 and then A16). Although the keyboard and screen looked almost new, t...
Summary: In summary, I am disappointed with the QC of the units (two units) while very grateful for Patricia of Customer Service - her excellent service and efforts save a loyal customer for New Egg. Thanks, Patricia. John
Pros: Over the years, I have purchased quite a few items from New Egg and enjoyed the great products at great prices. I never had to use customer services, until today. The WiFi network card in my replacement E6410 (it got very difficult to type the keys of the 1st one after 15-30 mins of use, I guess ...
Cons: Although the items I purchased this time (my 2nd time and 1st time was a a different but excellent unit) is a refurbished one and probably sold by 3rd party (maybe not by New Egg. It should not failed two times in a row. Particularly the problem of the WiFi of the 2nd unit should have been spotte...
Summary: the only reasons I didn't give it 5 eggs is the lack of certain features, but it was a compromise I was willing to make at this price point and it's very upgradable.Cons-no web cam,no blue tooth and integrated graphics which aren't terrible but they're not discrete graphics..
Pros: Good laptop for the $200 I paid,I put my SSD in it and installed my O/S and it runs just fine...just ordered the 8GB RAM kit for it,so it should be a pretty nice laptop for my needs.
Cons: As with any Refurb, you have to have realistic expectations....I had to do several BIOS updates and D/L all the drivers from DELL...installing Linux is a little tricky if you're not familiar with the newer UEFI BIOS,but it's doable and it runs great duel booting with Windows 7/Linux Mint 17.2.
Summary: Overall a good deal for a high quality refurbished notebook with some nice features. Mine came with a Core I5 560M 2.67 Ghz processesor Max Turbo frequency 3.2 Ghz.
Pros: 2.67 Ghz Core I5, Backlit Keyboard, Runs Windows 10 without a problem, CD/DVD Caddy easily replace with a hard drive caddy at a minimal cost, keyboard has a very professional feel much like an old IBM. Was in Grade A shape for a refurbished unit.
Cons: No camera, small hard drive 250GB, only 4 GB of RAM ( 2 GB x 2) so you need to buy two sticks of memory to upgrade to 8GB.
Summary: Came with 30-day return policy, but it is unlikely I will return unit. Has already been upgraded to Win10 Pro. Still learning my way around.
Pros: With a $20 discount from a previous purchase. I got this refurb Dell Latitude at less $200. Discount Laptop Shop did the restore. The actual unit was spec'd better than advertised. Follow the directions included, esp. to fully charge the battery!! Came with Win7 Pro 64-bit installed. No junk soft...
Pros: 14 inch display, Win 7 Pro 64, CD/DVD Play/Record, new battery, dual core i5 processor, the machine is very easy to upgrade and the many ports.
Cons: The keyboard had some problems but instead of returning and going through all the hassle I purchased a replacement keyboard from Dell for $18 and was as easy as could be to replace. Since, it has been a nice little windows laptop.
