Summary: Laptop is exactly what I wanted. When I first had an issue with the laptop, I sent an email and heard back from them right away. Great people to work with and very happy with my laptop. Thank you for everything.
Summary: I didn't get a chance to try this computer because it arrived in an unusable condition. It was poorly packaged and had obviously fallen out of the box at some point. It had been re-taped, but the power cord was broken. I returned the machine and received a full refund. Maybe someone else will have better luck with it than I did.
Summary: The Dell Latitude E5500 was one of the last laptop computers to have a serial port. While there are USB converters nothing beats an actual serial port. We use the port for programming different security, access control and fire alarm panels. The converters were hit and miss even as far as they would work today and not tomorrow. The Dell is a rugged and dependable computer.
Summary: I bought this computer for my back-up. Because windows xp wont have any update support in April 8, 2014. Infact it doesn't have any windows xp updates for the Dell Latitude C-640 laptop computer. And it is fast when the internet opens it is not as slow like the other one. The dislike about it was the hard drive was locked and couldn't re-install windows 7 professional the hard drive needed a password and I don't know the password.
Dell's product quality is not competitive with other brands for the money.

Summary: To make a long story short, I never want another Dell anything! We have 3 Dell laptops and 8 computers total. Electronically Dells are OK. Their absolute weakness is the outside cases of the computers. The screen simply broke off one. (That is the one I replaced on eBay.) The keyboard failed from use in a year. Dell needs to work on the computer coverings to be as durable as any other brand. They are not roadworthy. HP is MUCH better.
