Review Dell Latitude E5430 Notebook

Notebookcheck
16 September 2012
  • Summary: A sense of balance. Dell’s newest 14-inch Latitude seeks a perfect balance of cost, practicality, and portability, bolstered most notably by its newfound optional Ivy Bridge chipset. Is the E5430 everything the budget-conscious businessperson has been waiting for?
  • Pros: Excellent build quality, Function-over-form design, First-rate backlit keyboard, Great battery life, Exemplary performance, A smartly-designed notebook that clearly knows its place in the business market. All of the essentials are covered.
  • Cons: Loud under moderate to heavy stress, Also quite warm under load, Screen is bright but lacks sRGB coverage and contrast ratio, A little more plastic than we'd like to see, Less noise and heat under load and perhaps an option for a better-quality screen with equivalent or better brightness.
