Summary: All in all, it was definitely a good buy, I noticed about a 70 dollar increase in price since I bought mine ($279) and given the state of the laptop I wouldnt have paid a dime over what I did actually pay because I did invest in a new palm rest/ keyboard and a top cover for this laptop which have...
Pros: -Price was definitely cheap considering how much this laptop was brand new when it first came out -Runs very quiet and not too hot -Overall condition was spectacular -Came with 4GB of RAM instead of 2
Cons: -very dirty upon arrival, could have used an air compressor before packaging, but not a very serious con just kind of annoying -left mouse button feels as though its been used roughly, does not have a smooth click -there is a scuff on the lcd that took me a while to notice at first, its a more ex...
Scratch and Dent Dell E5410 being passed off as a Refurbished laptop
Mahmud Q., Newegg
24 July 2013
Summary: I wasnt expecting a "refurbished" laptop to be in this bad condition. But from a performance viewpoint, its a very good machine for this price.
Pros: No software issues at all Good performance because of Core i5 processor Windows 7 64-bit DVD was included in addition to the installed 32-bit DVD
Cons: The laptop should have been categorized as "scratch and dent" instead of "refurbished". The unit I got was badly scuffed and from the amount of hair in the keyboard, it seemed like the previous owner was a cat/dog owner. the company responsible for cleaning the unit didnt do a very good job of it...
Summary: This is very hinky, and is tripping my internal scam-dar. If I wasn't buying through Newegg, who I trust fairly well, I would not have made this purchase. I emailed the refurb shop for a product key; this goes to a 1 star if I end up having to buy a new copy of Win7 64b.
Pros: A good machine for the price, if you don't mind light wear and tear.
Cons: Machine is NOT loaded with WIn7 64b; it has Win7 32b. Other reviewers have mentioned this, so it's not a fluke. Product did not come with a WIn7 product key. There's a paper form the refurb shop that has a scan of a MS License on it, but the # is X'd out.
Summary: The machine does run and Windows did load on it, and no doubt it will run well as Dell makes a good machine. But buyers should be aware of the "fine print" not apparent in the listing.
Pros: Physical condition is good. No big scratches or paint missing. Runs well (but see below). Dell quality product.
Cons: Comes loaded with fresh OS from MSFT (labeled Windows 7 Pro for Refurbished PCs), but not specifically a Dell build. Has Win7 32 Bit installed, not 64bit as advertised. Need to download Dell drivers and software from web site. Runs out of the box, but may not have all the bells and whistles witho...
Summary: I received this laptop for work and was expecting it to be fast given the processor speed and the 4GB of RAM. So far, I have been disappointed in the speed of this machine. I find that it freezes when I just have one Excel spreadsheet open.
