Summary: This laptop especially with the 2.6 processor is awesome. It is just as fast as other new laptops. So far I've had mine since 08 and no problems other than battery replacement. Not even a hinge problem! So good I got a second one and now they both have Windows 8.1 and again works flawlessly. The biometric reader works much better with Win 8.1!

Summary: Bought three, updated two to Windows 8.1 and used to run Windows Media Center using tv tuner "dongle" on USB to watch "free" tv in "off-grid" solar setup with MSW inverter. NOT for kids to use to run games, graphics card can not be upgraded (internal) First one failed with (four months use off BH 1100W inverter) a BAT code not in owners manual. PC shop did not recommend repair due to economics.
Summary: Dell Latitudes D830 15.4" or D610 14.1" are great laptops to surf on the Internet or school projects. They are well built and durable. They are great for young kids that are rough on electronics. They are not as fancy and shiny as new consumer laptops, but they will outlast them, that's a fact. I have both models. They normally don't come with web cams, but the majority of people don't use web cams. They are very affordable and prices are at bottom listings.
Summary: The D830 is an amazing machine for the money. Swift, powerful, rugged and upgradable. Batteries are cheap and the display is 1920 x 1200 and can run up to core 2 duo 2.4ghz. Max 8 gig of ram, SATA hard drive interface, optional biometric finger reader, A, B, G, N Wifi, bluetooth, DVD-r all this for a VERY reasonable price
Summary: I'm very impressed with this pc I brought it because the software I have doesn't work with the new operating system and so because this has xp pro I can now use my old software. Plus this pc with Intel processor is pretty fast for a laptop.
Summary: The computer arrived in excellent shape and in a timely manner. I was hoping for Windows 7, because that's what I had before spilling water on my former computer, but I'll get used to Windows XP. This will do what I need it to.
