Summary: The power adapter was just bouncing around unprotected in the box. The laptop was secure, but the shipper should bubble wrap the adapter, or tape it down. Where else can you get a decent model windows 7 laptop for this price?
Pros: GREAT PRICE. Decent shape, passes hardware tests.
Cons: No operating was installed on the unit, would not boot. Lid has been painted , which looks decent enough, but defiantly noticeable. the DOES NOT SUPPORT 64bit O.S. I had to install the O.S. myself, luckily not a big issue for me, but it does not come with any disks, so be prepared.
Summary: This product arrived as expected but had flaws out of the box. The clock would not keep time and the touch pad did not work. The item was partially fixed by adding a cmos battery, but the product was returned due to potential motherboard problems.
Summary: The time/date set for this computer was 2006. Switching to today's date helped tremendously. Read that this laptop is heavy duty and is difficult to bang up which is great and because of this feature the laptop is not light to haul around. If the computer is shut and power off and not plugged in the battery is being drained. It has about four hours of unplugged time in it. It works well. Does what I need it to do: play movies, email etc and the internet.
Avoid this model if it's configured with the Nividia Video configuration.

Summary: This is one that's really hard to rate. There are several different configurations of the same model, each with it's own issues. My best and most useful advice would be to avoid any that use the Nividia Video configuration. Those models WILL fail. They have a know issue with the video card that fails due to heat. On the other hand find one with an Intel or ATI video configuration and you've found a great laptop.
Excerpt: it is not a bad computer at all. I like it a lot. It does not weight a tremendous amount which is nice. The speakers on it are play very low when it says that the volume is all the way up. It is a bit frustrating if you have a group of people around you trying to listen to something. it's a great work computer, though.
Excerpt: All in all this laptop works pretty well. It serves our home usage needs. It's a bit clunky for travel and we do have difficulty between the laptop and docking station occasionally. Based on multiple work and home experiences with Dell, I'm crossing my fingers as I'm starting to think that they program the things to die two months after the end of the warranty period (which just happened to me at work).
Excerpt: This laptop is a good buy. I was in need of something relatively cheap, but effective for day to day office use and this fits the budget. It's very sturdy and runs pretty smoothly most of the time. Unlike the older models (Latitude 600, Latitude 610), which I also own, this laptop stays cooler and doesn't seem to heat up as fast. The screen is nice because it's not shiny like other screens, which helps prevent reflection and smudges.
