Summary: I have had the dell XPS L501X since 2010, i have never been comfortable with any other laptop. It is great laptop. The performance is fantastic except for the new touchpad driver. I hope they go back to the original touchpad driver, it stopped some feature on the touchpad button the hot key is not responsive with the new updated driver. Other than that I would recommend this product to my family members.
Summary: I bought this laptop a year ago to replace my Dell Studio 1535 laptop. This core I5 processor is fast along with up to 16GB of memory this thing runs like a gaming desktop! The design is pleasing to the eyes and very sturdy although this is on the bulky side so it really isn't for carrying around and is more suited for a desktop replacement.
Summary: It's been 1 day and my power supply stopped working. I called customer care but it's going to take almost 1 week to replace it. and my laptop battery died right now so I cannot use it anymore. I googled it and I found that there are a lot of people who has same issue. Never buy this and never trust dell.
Summary: The version of this laptop that I ordered had 8gb of ram, a 2gb nVidia 540m graphics card, and a core i7 2670QM processor. I've had this laptop since May 2012, and it is still going strong, although the DVD drive failed after only one year, I have removed it and placed in a dock for the regular hard drive that came with the laptop and made the primary one a solid state drive which boots up in a flash.
Excerpt: I bought this laptop 12 months ago as a replacement for my old laptop that was well past it's best. Originally I was very pleased with my choice, I wanted to be able to pay Blu-Rays on it, and the relatively short battery life didn't put me off because 99% of the time it is plugged in. 12 months down the line and I have had a few problems, about 6 months after purchasing it I had a hard drive failure and it had to be replaced (not cheap!).
Summary: when I first turned it on I was surprised at how fast it was and still is. this laptop has great sound but sadly not a full HD monitor. runs games well with Nvidia graphics and every so often gets faster due to driver updates. if you have a large budget I would suggest getting an SSD because you will not regret it.
Well priced mid range laptop capable of most tasks you could ever want to complete.

Excerpt: There were several reasons for choosing the Dell XPS L501 as my replacement laptop...I needed a smaller unit to replace my old 'desktop replacement' unit, but didn't want to spend the earth or lose graphics capability so that I could play graphic-hungry online games as well as use it for work and for general surfing.
Summary: THIS LAPTOP IS THE L502X with the better second gen processor not a L501x! Did loads of research and decided on this laptop due to the quality of the build, amazing specs (Core i7 2670QM 750gb HDD etc). First impressions were good. The laptop has a great touchpad, large and can do pinch and zoom etc.
