  • Excerpt: Enjoying this system. Love the touch screen, easy to work with. Still has the CD and usb ports I need. right size, I can let my son use it for the PBS games and I can use it for everything else. Plus it has security so unlike on my phone I feel comfortable doing secure items. Very compatible with my untech friendly husband just plug in the mouse and he uses it like an old pc.

  • Excerpt: Moving to a new computer is always a bit challenging as I was comfortable with my old one. What seems like the right computer in the store sometimes turns out differently when you get it home. This Dell Inspiron has exceeded my expectations for a Laptop. The combination of touchscreen and keyboard is superb. Runs all of the programs with ease and the resolution of the large screen is excellent.

Excellent deal

  • Summary: The hardware specs of this computer make it a powerful workstation but not necessarily a gaming computer. While it does have a standalone video card, it's probably not really suited for running graphics intensive games. It may be possible to update the video card if that is what you are looking for. The computer is overkill if you don't do much more than surf the web.
  • Pros: I purchased this laptop as my primary workstation for my software engineering consulting business. What originally caught my eye was the high amount of memory (16 GB), the i7 processor, and a standalone video card. I was also attracted to the sleek finish and relatively lightweight design. While not as light as a Macbook, it's much lighter than previous Inspirons, and considerably lighter than my Lenovo ThinkPad. The 15.6 inch display is big enough for me to work comf...
  • Cons: The worst thing about the laptop is that it took some time for me to get it setup to a point where I was really thrilled with it. I really don't like the Windows 8 start screen with all of the tiles, most of which are links to news or websites. I deleted pretty much all of the Dell software that came with it and uninstalled everything that I recognized as bloatware I didn't want or need.
