Summary: I purchased a Inspiron 7720 17R SE in March 2013. I had the unit for two weeks when I had an automobile accident. The car flew across a canyon, hit the far rock wall, rolled numerous times to the bottom of the canyon and landed upside down in a creek. The laptop was in the front passenger seat. Upon retrieving the unit and opening the CD drawer, water poured out. I let the unit dry a few days and turned it on. It worked!!!!
Summary: My wife uses this computer for surfing the internet and facebook games most of the time with no problems at all. She also went from Windows 7 to Windows 8 with no problems. Between 1 & 10 she gave it a 9 rating which means it is pretty good.
Summary: First of all, let me say that I am a hard-core Dell user. I buy ONLY Dell products for their superior quality and support. That being said, my new Inspiron 17R laptop is incredible. No one, and I mean no one, could match Dell's price on an Intel I7 based system with these specs. The system is lightning fast, has great graphics, is relatively light for its size/features and has excellent battery life. Typical of every Dell product I buy, I am pleased beyond belief.
Summary: I have had this laptop for a few days and I am really happy with it. It looks really expensive and feels brilliant to type on. I love the backlit keyboard and the design of the keys. I got this laptop to replace a Dell Vostro laptop and I am really pleased with it. It is fast and the colours are really bright. My only problem is that under certain light conditions, the black text can look dark grey. Perhaps there are some settings I am unaware of to change this.
