  • Excerpt: Well this laptop was an upgrade for us from a previous Dell laptop we owned. The new camera it has is nice, an upgrade form our previus which didn't have one. The software is super easy to use with the webcam and works well with SKype. Since we have family all over this was one of the primary functions we were looking for.

  • Excerpt: I did quit a bit of looking around before I chose a computer.  I also took the time to save my money so it was important to me that I got the features that I wanted and that it performed well.  I liked what I saw in the Inspirons - my biggest debate was the 15" or the 17". I liked the lighter weight of the 15 but as an accountant by trade, I really wanted the larger key board with the 10-key calculator.  I decided to go with the 17" and am glad I did.

My Dell Studio 1737 Laptop

  • Excerpt: I've never owned a laptop computer until middle of 2009. It's worth the investiment because it's easy to transport and use in other locations like a library if you do not have Internet access. I'm a photographyer. It's also great to have along in your car while taking photographs, to download quickly. I recommend the Dell Studio 17" because it has the 10-key pad and it's a great sized screen.

The beast

  • Summary: I have been very happy with this laptop. I have had the laptop for a year now, and it is a great laptop. I paid the extra to get more memory and a good CPU and I haven't regretted it. It is a good laptop with many great features. The Pros: It is a fast laptop with a very good picture. The sound is pretty good for built in speakers. Good battery life (although I upgraded to a 9-cell to get even more life). It will run a good many processes at a time.

Dell Inspiron laptop

Tamara Weidenfeller, Amazon
3 March 2010
  • Summary: I recently upgraded from a Dell Inspiron 1525 to this 1750 model. The differences.... I defiantly like the BIGGER screen. (getting older I guess) The Volume control / speaker improvement with greater volume capacity is totally awesome. I was pleasantly surprised by the weight of this unit being so much bigger....it doesn't feel much heavier then the last one I had OR I am simply comfortable with the weight of this one.

  • Summary: It is not bad. But sometimes, it will wake up automatically from sleep state. Maybe it is the software setting problem, I am not sure.

Reliable good size screen for a laptop

alwilson44, Dooyoo

  • Excerpt: I purchased the Dell 4 years ago and had the extra memory included to 3 Gb. It's a great laptop for typing and the screen is excellent. The 3 gig memory allows many windows to be open at once, many more than on my PC which has a similar memory size. The screen is clear and is very good for watching movies etc. As with most laptops one would like the battery to last longer, from full the laptop lasts only about one and a half hours before the battery needs recharging.

  • Excerpt: "...am addicted to laptops. The DELL Inspiron has been my favourite so far! It's a big screen laptop, screen size is 17.3in, the biggest I've ever had.....this makes it good for streaming movies, as you're not screwing your eyes up at the picture size!My second favourite feature of this laptop is the fact it is Bluetooth enabled, meaning I don't have to install new mobile phone software every time I change my mobile, I can easily Bluetooth ...
  • Pros: Bluetooth enabled, WI - FI inbuilt, Large screen, fast speed and large amount of storage
  • Cons: Feels a little flimsy
