Summary: I have had my Inspiron 15z for a year, it worked great for approximately 5-6 months, after that The Dell technicians have used it more than I have. Two motherboards, 3 hard drives, a cooling fan, and keyboard, then yesterday as I was reloading Windows 8 again (6th time) the DVD/CD would not read any of the CD's for utilities or reloading Windows. in total frustration I wrapped up the cord and left it and the laptop on the table.
Summary: Got this computer about 2 months ago and have had nothing but problems since. I use skype quite often, and no one can understand me when I use this computer. Also my trackpad WILL NOT work, and sometime niether will my keyboard. I called customer service, and they blamed every issue on "static" and said that I leave the computer on too long.
Summary: THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST DECISION I'VE EVER MADE! I BOUGHT THIS LAPTOP FOR SCHOOL. AT THE TIME I BOUGHT IT I DIDN'T REALLY USE IT BECAUSE I WASN'T ENROLLED INTO SCHOOL YET. I DIDN'T FEEL THE NEED TO TEST IT OUT EVERYDAY BECAUSE I PREVIOUSLY OWNED A DELL LAPTOP WHICH WAS GREAT. IT NEVER GAVE ME ANY PROBLEMS, WHICH IS THE REASON I DECIDED TO GO BACK TO DELL INSTEAD OF APPLE.
Summary: I have purchased and used Dell products since the 90's without any problems or issues and never needed to call support until I purchased this ultrabook. After this experience I will never purchase a Dell product again. Dell replaced the ultrabook twice and still problems. It is just a poor quality product. IE freezes randomly and the only way out is to close the app once you can.
Summary: If you are thinking about buying, know that the build quality is poor. The case holding the laptop screen is separating out of the box. Dell warranty does not cover it. They blame it on accidental damage even though it is a manufacturing defect.
