Summary: I have had my Inspiron 15z for a year, it worked great for approximately 5-6 months, after that The Dell technicians have used it more than I have. Two motherboards, 3 hard drives, a cooling fan, and keyboard, then yesterday as I was reloading Windows 8 again (6th time) the DVD/CD would not read any of the CD's for utilities or reloading Windows. in total frustration I wrapped up the cord and left it and the laptop on the table.
Summary: I am totally pleased with the 15z - it's looks, weight, and operation. I did not want or like Win8, but with this touch screen laptop and a little time with it I am finding I want MORE of the Win8 interface and programs written to fit it's operating structure.
Summary: We bought this computer mainly for web-browsing, word processing and skype. The computer works great for all three. The SSD makes it run very fast. The touch screen was not something we were looking for but i definitely comes in handy when working with Windows 8 as it naturally feels very touch based. CD/DVD drive was a nice touch too seeing as how that is generally being phased out of laptops.
The laptop is really light and portable and has a good size screen

Summary: The laptop has a nice LED lit keyboard, a decent screen (for work and home use), really practical with it's good size, but light weight. Has a good quality feel to it. Nice built in webcam too.
Summary: This 15z has the msata drive and it makes the machine very quick in booting, shutting down and in general operation. Very pleased with the system. Touch screen is nice but I'm not sure when the newness wears off how much the touch screen will get used. Note: during set up I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and this was a mistake. In my opinion windows 8.1 is not yet ready for prime time. Printer drivers and Internet explorer 11 stability have been the main issues.
