Summary: Continuing problems with battery charging. Erratic. Screen separating from frame. Customer service expects me to detach charging cord each time battery is not charging. Doesn't that mean something is wrong with it since this is my third laptop and I have never had to do this before?
Summary: I have been a long time Dell customer.... Retired military where every office had a Dell computer. I am a previous Data Systems manager.... so PCs are nothing new. What I don't know is whether I dislike the laptop or the operating system. Laptop has lots of quirks. The chimes drive me crazy.... any swipe of the mouse to the left brings the chimes out, which annoys me if I am in the process of any operation.... click somewhere to make the chimes go hidden again.
Summary: When my laptop wants to work, it works well, most of the time. I had it a week and it went into sleep mode and I couldn't get it to come out of sleep mode. It has crashed numerous times (including while I was working), but since I need this laptop for work, I can't send it in for a replacement. I'm replacing an older Dell and never had problems with the older one not coming out of sleep mode. It's a Dell Studio. I just wish my Inspiron was more reliable.
Summary: I wish I had returned this laptop within the 30-day return period. It has plenty of RAM, but the processor is awful. It takes forever to switch from tab to tab in my browser. I can't watch Amazon instant videos or Netflix (the sound and video always go out of sync within the first 30 seconds of watching; it happens on every title, so it's not just a case of one or two bad videos). The one positive thing is the laptop does not get as hot as my Toshiba laptop did.
Summary: The display had a horizontal line of pixels out of the box so from the beginning was being returned. Dell support was much better than I expected but they were unable to fix it. In addition I felt it ran sluggishly and the keyboard was mushy. I returned it and bought a Lenova which I love.
Summary: This is my first and last time purchasing a Dell Laptop!!! EVER!!! Well actually, it was bought by my father in law but, I've only had this laptop for a little over a month and I must say I don't think I've ever so many small issues with a laptop. First of all, the cd tray rarely works, the touch pad goes out all of the time and for no reason at all, the wi-fi card works when it wants to.
