Summary: I would probably skip on this model - beware! I've owned this computer for about a month now and the sound card already has to be replaced - took 8-10 hours of foreign technical support just to find out the sound card was bad. I wouldn't buy this one again, no.
Summary: My Dell computer arrived, could not register it, could not update it, and the warranty was already expired on it. I called customer support (not in the United States) and was repeatedly hung up on, several time on purpose because they could not believe there computer would have this kind of problem. The good point of this story is Wal-mart took the return, almost no problems there.
Summary: I bought my computer 2 months ago with Windows 8. From the start the computer would freeze up and I would have to restart it. I found the problem was mainly with the "quick start" so I changed that option to a "regular" start. The problem did not go away, but it did dimish quite a bit. Then I completed a "critical BIOS update" from Dell (I confirmed it was from Dell prior to updating) and now my hard drive and motherboard are fried.
Summary: This laptop has very sharp edges along the sides. I constantly get scratched by them on my wrists. I'm very disappointed that Dell would make such a poorly designed product. It makes me wonder if they even test it out before they put it into production.
Summary: I do not recommend this product. I purchased the laptop just before going to spend a year abroad in the UK so that I wouldn't have to worry about my old laptop dying while I was there, and the hard drive crashed less than six months after the purchase, and the "replacement" sometimes has problems booting up. For these reasons, I would characterize this product as unreliable.
Summary: I have had this laptop for just over 2 years. It has been OK up until about 5 days ago when out of no where it just would not come on at all. It beeps 7 times loudly pauses for about 10 seconds or so & then continues the awful pattern. Through info. via the big retailers, internet, & finally Dell I have been informed that it is probably my motherboard or CPU or whatever. I am extremely disappointed by this and will NEVER buy another Dell computer again.
Summary: I never actually got to try the laptop out. This item comes from TigerDirect, who shipped it like they were shipping a cellphone - cellophane stretched over a cardboard panel suspended in a box. No padding, no "fragile," no "do not stack," and I imagine that's just what UPS did because the screen was broken upon arrival. I'm sure it's a great lappy. I was really looking forward to using this.
Summary: This laptop is a complete waste of money. I had it for four months and the monitor went out. Customer support was no help at all. Now, after slightly less than six months, the hinge has broken! Windows 8 OS is absolutely horrible. I hate everything about this laptop and would not recommend it. I most highly would not recommend Dell.
