Summary: This is my first online computer purchase, and I am happy to say that it has been a pretty good experience overall. The seller was very sweet, personalizing a log-on page in my name and leaving Windows and Excel installed for me to use. The machine has performed well enough, with sufficient speed for everyday web browsing and video play. The picture quality is more than adequate.
Summary: The worst thing is that the BIOS is locked by Dell with a password. To get the password (e.g. just to change the current time, which was incorrect) I had to call Dell Hardware Support Team 3 times. I asked them to give me the password, because the computer is not stolen and there is no lean against it. I do not want any of their supports or warranties.
Excerpt: As a first laptop, it worked for me (Vista probably made the experience worse for me). Then the battery gave out, and things started falling apart. It seems as if there isn't much that has to be done in order to aggravate it and cause problems. My biggest issue is that the battery gave out and...
Excerpt: This is my second dell laptop computer, and It is a definite inprovment from my last dell computer. I had an inspiron laptop before and it was huge and heavy and really slow. the one is have now is much faster and lighter and smaller, and i have had way less problems with it.
Excerpt: I bought Dell products before and always they have been excellent. Sadly my Inspiron 1545 was the exception. The computer started to behave weird at 5 months after the purchase. I could not exchange it since I moved overseas. Battery died at 7 months. The keyboard keys sometimes fall from the keyboard. I know Dell products are very good, my husband has a Inspiron too and his works very well, I think I just had bad luck with this one.
Excerpt: Great laptop for the price. Doesn't have all the great features as most business laptops but is a very good laptop for school or personal use. Almost had my laptop for two and a half years and it does show signs of wear and tear such as a few screws that hold the bottom in place and a few screws that hold the screen and keyboard in place but that doesn't affect how the laptop works.
Crashed after using it for two months, The Dell Inspirion 1545
9 September 2012
Excerpt: I was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital for three months. My husband bought me the Dell Inspirion 1545 to help me cope with the boredom of being in the hospital. After using the computer for roughly four hours a day the laptop crashed on me. I couldn't restore it to factory settings or just do a windows restore. I got a black screen everytime I restarted. After taking it back to the store it was purchased at to be fixed I haven't had any problems with it.
Excerpt: This computer is good for doing school work, but it does not have a lot of memory and it quick enough to load things up. There is couple of thing that I do not like is that thing open out that you do not want to and also close thing that you are doing, it bugs me went that happen. I like the style of the keyboard and easy to type on. I do not like the way the mouse move it is very touchy.
Excerpt: This computer is great. It was reasonably priced and does everything I need it to. I only have two complaints. First, the wireless card isn't super reliable. My wireless randomly disconnects fairly often and I have to constantly troubleshoot it. Second, the battery life is awful, maybe 90 minutes while disconnected at most.
Excerpt: This Dell Inspiron 1545 is awesome not just because it is dell, but because it is fast and it comes with windows 7 which is awesome. I do think that mac works why better in the fact that they don't get any viruses that brings me to my next point it cost alot because of all the expensive software that protects it from viruses.
