Summary: I used this computer before I could afford enogh money, as I got it a while ago, forgot about it, and then found it again. It can barely run games, videos, etc. and works okay at browsing the web. Lots of times, it freezes, then you hear it cooling and it runs again, which takes about 5 min. One of the hinges popped of as well, which was suprising as I seldom used this computer back when I first bought it.
Ok for the current price but several hardware issues

Summary: I have been buying Dell computers for the past couple years and I think its about time for a change. Overall, I've been satisfied with their performance but I seem to have recurring hardware issues. I've noticed that almost every Dell I've owned has had CD drive issues. In my Inspiron 1000 it stopped working completely and in my 1525 it started coming loose in just a couple months. The hard drive on my 1525 also seems like its going after 2 years of light use.
Summary: I've had this laptop since Feb of last year, have the ruby red and that's rather daring when you're straight but seriously it has quite a decent finish (if not the best) I have a 9 cell battery which makes the laptop a little heavier and I do regret getting it and that's not because I paid extra but it's because laptops are plugged in all the time. I've traveled many places with my laptop. I strongly advise getting this laptop with a 2 year warranty.
Summary: This is not a "lap" top. Every time it is on my lap it overheats. I have to put it on the corner of the table so it can "blow off steam." The fan goes on a lot because the ventilation vents are on the bottom. Other than that, it is OK.
Summary: Bit on the fence with this one, the problem with the fan has been constant, and that guy's right, it gets really hot, then cuts out, also VERY noisy when fan going. Its also really heavy, the colour of the case is cool, and the keyboard has always worked fine, though the charger is temperamental, charges when it wants to...
Don't buy if you want to use it on your lap! Otherwise a good choice.

Excerpt: KEYBOARD AND SCREEN The keyboard is ideal for typing, I am writing this on my 1525 and my fingers are flying across the keyboard, the spacing is perfect, athough the glossy finish on the keys can be problematic, this is a minor niggle. The 1024x768 screen is a finger print magnet, and whilst it looks fantastic if kept clean, it looks like a mirror in daylight if you don't look after it.
