Excerpt: First saw Inspiron 1525 at Walmart. Called Dell sales center..the sales person talked up some additions so I ended up spending considerably more including extended warranty. Dell support is a bad joke. Their so called assistants must be hugely overworked as the message is always.."busy helping other customers" or similar message. This lap top always restarts no matter how I turn it off. The battery has a ridiculously short life span.
Excerpt: My Dell Inspiron is the second Dell laptop I have owned. Both suffered from the same problem . The hinge that allows one to open up the laptop breaks. The first laptop was 5 years old when it broke so I forgave the break and bought another Dell. The second one broke after only a year and a half. Dell's answer to attempting to repair it is that it would cost me less to replace it than repair it. So, this month I plan on replacing my Dell with an HP.
Excerpt: I have had this laptop for 2 and a half years. It has broken down on me twice already. First one of the RAMs was corrupted and second the video card died on me. Those two broke down when the laptop was less than two years old. This laptop also came with an operating system of Vista, which isn't good at all. It would be better to buy a newer dell computer that includes windows 7 and not vista.
Excerpt: Windows vista crashes alot. The touch pad has needed to be replaced twice. The keyboard has broke several times,and has been replaced several times. Is in need of replacement again. The harddrive broke with in the first two weeks of purchase. The motherboard has needed to be replace four times. The power cord / charger has broke three times and has had to be replaced. The system has started to have over heating problems.
Excerpt: The inspiron 1525 was not as good as i thought it would have been for the price. Iv had mine for less than a year and the touch pad mouse hasnt worked for like 6 months. I also had to replace my key board and the mother board was fried some how around 6 months ago. I had a warranty and when i asked just to have a new computer and Dell said 'No' I had to pay $60 for the keyboard and find someone to fix it for me.
Excerpt: the dell inspiron 1525..I bought this laptop with high hopes. I don't really use it for a lot except getting online and creating a few documents for my work and dealing with my ipod music. In the first 3 monthes it crashed 3 times and I had to reboot everything from my computer from day one. This had to happen twice before I started saving my work stuff and ipod stuff to a backup so I didn't continually have to redo everything. I found tech support very unhelpful.
its not very good, i would rather have window xp better laptop

Excerpt: window vista is nice on desk top but not for laptop you have to either put google chrome, or some other explorer in and i dont like that. never done it before.ill never get another vista laptop again and it wont be a dell. Reviewer is an employee or otherwise affiliated with the brand.
Cheapest possible parts are used in this cheap dell notebook

Excerpt: Hello, I purchased the Dell 1525 a little over a year ago. I needed something affordable to use for school and other business. I have made a list of Pros and Cons; I'll start with the Pros, as the list is much shorter: Pros Cons I wouldn't recommend this laptop to anyone unless they simply want the cheapest possible solution. Dell is able to offer cheaper laptops which appear to have good specs because they use the cheapest parts possible.
Excerpt: I received my dell laptop for my birthday 2 years ago, and at first I love the computer and everything about it, but now after almost 2 years not so much. My biggest complaints about this laptop is the charger for the battery and the screen. We have replace the cord two times because it connects on the side of the computer so the cord is always and bent and after awhile the cord breaks and the wires inside start to show through. The other issue is the screen.
Excerpt: Dell Inspiron 1525... Not a good buy .. after about 3 months of having this laptop it crashed and I lost alot of data. Then I had to restore back to manufacturing settings. After about 3 months after that it crashed again and I proceeded to to have problems. I contacted Dell about it and after 72 hours they finally got to my ticket on a Sunday about 1 pm (Sunday are u crazy?). But in the span of the 72 hours I was able to bring it back to manufacturing settings again.
