Summary: My screen is being held up by yellow duck-tape. The battery is crap, it stopped charging 4 months after having it. It still runs, but it's super slow. I'm really looking forward to getting a new laptop, I'll NEVER buy DELL again.
Summary: I wish I could've stopped my boyfriend from buying this thing for me a few years ago. I really have never liked Dell; I've had a lot of Dell computers at work and they've always been screwy. So, I didn't really want the Dell in the first place, but since he bought it and was enthusiastic I thought I'd give it another shot. It worked well enough . . .at first. But then. . .the issues came up: 1.
Summary: I've had this computer for a few years now and all it has given me is trouble. Vista isn't great, but that's not what makes this computer so bad. After having it a few months, the hard drive crashed and I lost everything. They replaced the hard drive, but it wasn't a good one. It made my computer run really slow. After that, I kept getting the blue screen and various errors. I had to take my computer to get it worked on and had to buy another hard drive of good quality.
Summary: maybe when it came out it was half decent but by nowadays standerds this laptop is awful i have had one and it is frustratingly slow and freezes constantly also the screen is not very good if you are thinking about buying one of these used dont do it unless you find it for around 50 bucks this is not worth the 200-300 bucks people are asking for it
Summary: I've had two Dell laptops. On both of them the mousepad stopped working within months. (Why I bought the second laptop I dont know.) On the 1525, everything seems to have fallen apart. Even worse, it didn't come with driver disks or any of the oem software on disks. Funny thing is, Dell advertises this as a benefit. Huh? Now it's impossible to reinstall the os system because you can't get it online anymore. I will not buy a Dell again.
Summary: You would be an idiot if you bought anything Dell. Any company that won't warranty obvious design screw-ups should not be in business. I bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 from Best Buy, mistakes on both counts. I was suckered into buying Best Buys warranty program. In one way is was good because the left hinge came apart 18 months after purchase and again 15 months later, both covered by the expensive Best Buy warranty.
Summary: This computer is far more hassle than it is worth. It is a hot, loud, problematic mess. And I am not alone in this. -The computer gets very hot after only a half hour, to the point it actually is painful to have on your lap. The fan, which is supposed to keep the laptop cool does not do a very good job at it. Additionally the fan is very loud.
Summary: I've had this computer for less than 3 years and it is ready for the garbage. I've had to put in 3 hard drives and now the screen is flickering to the point where I can't use it anymore. I refuse to put more money into it so it will go in the trash. What a waste! DON'T BUY DELL!!!!!!
Summary: First of all, it's pretty hard to get the laptop you want when the manufacturer only gives you very few options for components. I'd rather they gave the buyer an option to build their own laptop with the expectation that the buyer did their homework and knows which components are compatible with which. Second, this lousy laptop gave me headaches from the 7th day I had it.
