Great Disappointment

Rahul Mangal, Amazon
10 June 2014
  • Summary: I purchased Dell inspiron 14z ultrabook. It started giving me troubles from the next day. First the blue screen error and then the hard drive issue. Now that my product is no longer is in warranty it started giving me error of 'LCD failure". I called customer care that said 'you should have extended warranty'. Is that the motive of Dell, sell crappy items and expect the customers to pay extra for warranty. I am so disappointed with Dell. Never again...

Seller does not transfer warranty

JKV, Amazon
1 May 2014
  • Summary: The computer was bought from Amazon market place (Laptop Deals and More) six months ago. Stopped working couple of weeks ago. Contacted Dell. Dell says that I don't own the computer. Contacted the seller through email (no phone number is available to talk to real person). Although the seller says that they will transfer ownership, after repeated emails, it does not happen.

Great when it worked for the first six months - then it died! Dell would not honor the waranty!

Sadiqi, Amazon
22 April 2014
  • Summary: This was my third Dell unit and was to replace my aging Dell Inspiron 630m. I had faith in Dell (past tense) Some of the reviews commented on problems. When the unit stopped charging I tried the other charge adapters and same result. I contacted Dell tech support and they were very helpful and said they would ship a new motherboard to a US address. I was in the Caribbean at the time. Then Dell "Customer Care" intervened and stopped the shipment - twice.

Another Reason Why I'm Not Buying Any More Dells

Brian ó Séaghdha "Irish Rover", Amazon
20 April 2014
  • Summary: I bought this for my daughter who is attending college, and was assured by the college and by Dell that the warranty would cover everything (parents: that is one of the biggest lies you will hear after "we don't have any issues with alcohol on our campus"). After burning out a video card in only a couple of months of use, the battery died. It is an internal battery, so you cannot do it yourself or you will void Dell's warranty.

Didn't work!

SD, Amazon
16 March 2014
  • Summary: This is a mixed review. The laptop had problems out of the box. I turned it on, and it worked ok. But it had no sound and no USB (I assume that's why the camera didn't work either). I've had a Dell computers and laptops for a long time (at least 10-15 years), and this is the first time I've had any kind of problem, so it was a real surprise.

Worst Laptop I've Ever Owned

JM Taylor, Amazon
13 March 2014
  • Summary: Zero stars is the appropriate rating for this piece of junk. Display panel is starting to come loose after less than 2 years of light use. Power button doesn't work properly sometimes due to a short in the upper panel under the display. Multimedia keys random light up and cause issues. Touchpad is starting to lose precision. I've owned several laptops, and this is by far the worst. Quality is extremely poor, and I will never buy another Dell again.

Simply the worst ultrabook

kukushkin, Amazon
5 March 2014
  • Summary: I bought this product on 14th of January 2013. Yes it is just little bit more than a year. In the first month, everything was super awesome. After a while I started having fan problems eventually the unnecessary noise. I cleaned the fan couple times and it didn't work out at all. Then it started giving wireless errors and got me install the drivers again.

3 Problems that ruin laptop

Tom Makhlouf, Amazon
28 February 2014
  • Summary: This laptop has 3 big flaws that really ruin it. The first is that it is incredibly loud. So much so that i would have returned it if the restocking fee wasnt so expensive. Easily the loudest laptop ive ever used. Second the keyboard quality is poor. Its not the keys themselves, which are fine to type on, its the backing of the keyboard which bubbles up in the middle. Very disappointing from a quality stand point.

POOR HARDWARE AND NOT READY FOR WINDOWS 8!

happyhippo777, Dell
25 February 2014
  • Summary: Thought this would be an ideal laptop for taking to university and work but unfortunately not. Dell have released this on Windows 8 without even checking that the drivers work properly! So far had issues with network adapters, the touchpad because of driver issues, and there has been no fix after trying various updates and downgrades, its simply because the drivers are not fully compatible/de-bugged for this hardware.
