Summary: After 2 months, the monitor suddendly gave trouble. It had a vertical line across, and it flashed rapidly, and lost lots of resolution. I called Dell. Since I purchased it from Amzon, Dell couldn't find my info on their system. They refused to help me on it, and pushed me back to Amazon. I spent half hour online with amazon rep. Nicely enough, I got authorization to return it. However, 100 bucks were gone for shipping and re-stocking.
Summary: I just bought the laptop. It looks good. However, there is always some system problem. Such as the host processor for windows tasks has stopped working. And the internet explorer stopped suddenly. I asked the customer service. They only told me to restart the laptop. How was that?!
Summary: Overall... if you're paying in the 300's for a laptop, it's a good deal... if more, save it for something different. 13.3 inch is bigger than I thought, but still mostly a travel / internet / email laptop... no gaming capability (even Civ V is too much). Would I buy again.... NO, but for the price I'm not upset about that.
Pros: I like the keyboard and the touchpad... both respond well... also the bootup time is not shabby, and for me the screen res. is fine. Sound is not too bad.
Cons: port covers... I know it's been said and you may think no big deal... I'll just rip them off... but the laptop will not look right without them, and with them... it's just a serious, serious pain.
Summary: Pros: price, seem very well built, keyboard, size/convience. When it was working, it was fast and ran very smooth. The Issues: After about 4 weeks it would not boot. I sent it off to Dell service center and they needed to replace the motherboard, hard drive, audio board and reinstall Windows 8. Not sure what the exact issue was and Dell support has been somewhat vague.
Summary: I returned to NewEgg, and swapped out for an ACER... Sorry Dell - you let me down this time.
Pros: Very nice computer - very well made. Aluminum body. Lightweght. Great quaility. Works perfect while on Ethernet cable.
Cons: Wireless Card no good. Intermittent would not hold a signal, even right next to my new Hi-Tech router which works perfect with all our other computers in house. Tested out also at Starbucks and MCD, with same issues. Spent HOURS on tel with Del;, and still could never get properly operational.
