Summary: After seriously looking for a Dell replacement for over 6 months, I wanted to love this, but for the above reasons tI is such a disapointment -- after absolutely loving my Dell 700m for 10 years -- loved it so much I just couldn't give it up. The 13z was such a letdown after the wonderful Dell 700m. I actually went back to my 700m until XP support ended.
Pros: I like the screen size. The price was good. All the basics are covered pretty well.
Cons: Screen visibility was much poorer and much too narrow of an angle -- especially compared to my Dell 700m. The touchpad is absolutely AWFUL! I've tried adjusting with the features on or off and sensitivity settings at various places. I finally turned everything off expect the most basic funtion and turned the sensitivity down as low as possible. Problem is that pointer moves at the slightest brush of finger. So I reduced the sensitiviey to minimum but then I have to po...
Summary: The laptop worked for one hour and had to be returned. I am very hesitant about looking at a dell again. It was a bad experience, maybe I was one Of the unlucky persons to get a defective laptop.
Summary: Before purchasing, I wish I had read the other reviews warning of this product. I purchased it and 2 months later it wouldn't recognize any of the components - no wireless, no pointing device. I got on the phone with Dell technical support for over 1 1/2 hours. They said the hard drive failed and would send out a technician with a new hard drive to install. Two days later that happened.
Summary: Dell should take some of the money they spend trying to fix computers, and put it towards development and production.
Pros: Loved it while it worked, all 30 days that is.
Cons: Where to begin. The arrow that is control by the scroll pad, freezes up all the time. So Dell disables the driver, then if you so much as look at the scroll pad, it messes up. We have spent so many hours on the phone with Dell, that it isn't funny. Very polite customer service, but the computer is junk. We are now waiting to see how to proceed. They say they are going to replace our computer. We'll see.
Summary: Had to return it - it died - send replacement drive - still dead... People were great at Dell in Phillipines - offered upgrade - still waiting now want me to accept warranty from original purchase date!!!!
Summary: fue una pésima experiencia ya que el la computadora que me enviaron estaba defectuosa, al momento de usarla por primera vez duro encendida 5 minutos y se apagó sin motivo alguno. Tuve que llevarla donde un técnico para que la revisara y el me indicó que la computadora estaba defectuosa. Me parece terrible was a terrible experience because the computer they sent me was faulty, upon first use hard on for 5 minutes and off without reason.
