Summary: I bought this gaming laptop for playing on line games. I read some reviews of Alienware and they all sounded good. However my experience with this laptop for game play has been frustrating. Why? Because some of my favorite on line games I tried to play became frozen during the game. I played Argo on line, Dynasty warrior on line, Minecraft (Frozen one time), Killing floor-Steam.They all became frozen after 5 to 30 minutes of play time.
Summary: After reading the reviews for the alienware laptops it sounds like people are getting ripped off.Is it the real thing or just a knock off.Theyre over priced, overrated,I was at one satge looking at buying one of these but for that price i can get a much better and alot cheaper gaming laptop elsewhere. Also whats the difference between the Mx17 and Mx18 theres an £800 quid difference, but the specs are the same and the reviews for the more expensive one has great reviews...
Summary: I bought an M11x from Amazon warehouse deals. The price and spec looked to good to be true, so, obviously, they were. The machine arrived and at first all seemed fine, however after installing cpu-z and gpu-z some eyebrow raising details were revealed. The machine was powered by a core i3 processor not a core i5 as stated, and it also appeared to have no graphics memory at all.
Alienware M11x - Fragile, cracks & poor service from Dell
18 October 2011
Summary: I have had my Alienware M11x for JUST over a year now. I am a light user, mostly stays in the house. Recently the hinge at the back has cracked and Dell have thrown the full charges at me (about 60% of the cost of a new laptop). If you are thinking of buying an Alienware remember that you can not get anyone to repair / work on the laptop other than Dell and that's gona hurt.
