HP Compaq Presario CQ70-211EM: Should I purchase a Compaq CQ70?
17 January 2014
Summary: The laptop I currently have is the Compaq CQ70. I have to admit that the specs... they're not so impressive. The laptop was purchased over 5 years ago. We had very little knowledge of laptops and thus we brought this. The screen is wonderful. Watching movies on this laptop is fantastic, or even doing simple work - the screen is 17 inches. From the specification, it is evident the laptop has an 'intel pentium dual core' - which is, suprisingly, NOT slow.
Summary: I got this laptop as a Christmas present in 2010. First impressions: It was a rather large, heavy and thick laptop, with a shiny black finish on the outside. The keyboard was very comfortable and it came with the number pad at the side. The trackpad is responsive but a bit clunky. It was a good laptop at the start, with the facilities of a great webcam, wireless access and everything windows allows a user to do.
Summary: its not a bad computer for the price that i paid, however it is pretty heavy compared to other laptops. The most annoying thing is that it heats up on the bottom left side. Besides that i have no problem. It came with vista crap, so i updated it to windows 7 and runs fine.
Summary: WARNING
STAY AT LEAST A MILLION MILES
AWAY FROM THIS CRAP LAPTOP
Go on Ebay and check how many broken ones are for sale and i suppose then you can make your mind up before buying.
I bought this laptop in dec 2008 from Currys UK (Should be renamed to IDIOTS UK),the laptop it self was great with all the features it came with but the downside was that the build quality of it is absolute rubbish, the frame started to fall apaprt within the first three...
Excerpt: "...time. Concluded:The Compaq Presario CQ70 is a good allround laptop for the average user. It is good for all sorts of purposes, and it would be a perfect laptop for people who don't bother playing games which were released after 2008. ...
Pros: Good screen quality, comfortable keyboard, good price/quality
Cons: Mousepad could be better, screen starts to loosen after long - time use .
Summary: Find its a pretty good laptop however not impressed it managed to snap and had to be sent off due to needing it for assignments , as stated above good memory managed to store loads of pics , documents and music files :) .
Pros: Had this laptop for a few years now has managed to last out so far , brillian memory for all my family pics and documents ect
Cons: within the 1st year of having it the frame of the laptop became loose and actually snapped in half with wires hanging out ( luckily enough I had a 2 year insurance policy to get it repaired! )
Summary: I find this an excellent laptop and it hasn't let me down after 3 years. Cost me slightly more than the price it is now but it's been worth every penny. Can't really understand that the review said that it's not very good for gaming as it works well for me and I have little problems using the trackpad for everything.
Pros: Ive had this laptop for 3 years now and it's excellent. Call of duty 4 works fine after adjusting the resolution settings etc .
Summary: Im using it for 5 months now and it still runs great, i didn't have difficulties with it, i'll see if what the others said about the screen in the next 3 months and maybe i'll come back with a comment. I would recomend it to anyone who likes a big screen.
Pros: It runs great with windows 7, and i use it allot for designing and photo editing and lots of other aplications from adobe (photoshop, ilustrator, etc))
Summary: the only thing about this laptop is that it works sometimes, now the bad bits: hinges are very poor quality so the bezel keeps breaking the battery cells died within 6-7 months the charger only lasted 8 months its been at the repairers more than its been on my lap (TECH GUYS TO BE PRECISE WHO ARE A USE LESS BUNCH OF COW BOYS WHO TRY TO FOB YOU OF WITH THIER LIST OF EXCUSES) dont buy this laptop even if its free.
