Awesome & Functional Laptop
24 May 2014
Summary: I got this laptop about 3 months ago for my birthday. I know that it's the older model, but we couldn't find any other laptops that fit my specifications (at least 500 GB storage + dedicated graphics + ultrabookness). I have to say, this laptop did everything I wanted and more. I can play Skyrim on it (low resolution, but Skyrim's low resolution looks like some other games' high) at a pretty good speed. I didn't notice any lag, even while fighting.
Summary: This laptop is great. The fact that it's got upgradable components is fantastic. I immediately upgraded my 4gigs of ram to 10 gigs. it's fast and has an operating battery life of around 5 hrs based on my usage. Standby battery is WAY long. I haven't charged it in almost 3 weeks. The only complaint I would have is that it feels like they went a little too thin on the frame.
Highly compact yet powerful all-around system with few shortcomings.

Summary: This Asus UX32VD-DH71 was purchased for both work and personal use. My previous laptop was the Gateway FX Series, a ~9 lb. mammoth with dedicated graphics. I had always liked the form factor of an ultrabook, but couldn't get over the typically integrated graphics of most systems. I really like Asus' products and was very pleased with the features and specifications of the UX32VD: Processor: Core i7-3517U ("Ultra Low Voltage") 1GB Nvidia GT620M Dedicated Graphics 6GB DDR3...
Summary: Great computer, really light, good screen, fast and comfortable. The only flaw I've felt is the lack of the numpad because I can't make extra symbols using ALT codes, which is REALLY annoying and also it's a very dumb flaw (other computers have the numpad using the fn key).
Summary: So far, it has been a very solid computer. Solid wifi, nice screen, no issues typing. I also received 6gb of ram. I don't like windows 8. I intend to install arch linux as a replacement as soon as my ssd arrives, so hopefully I will remember to update this review and let you all know how that goes. I have heard it runs ubuntu just fine, but I don't like that either :P Oh, and it handles visualization (virtual box) nicely, no need to change any bios settings.
Summary: pros Come on, compare to the everyone-has-it apple, Asus zenbook is a comparable product, if you are looking for a light, cool, and well-quipped device. Whatever windows 8 is criticized, windows 7 can fulfill most of your needs for processing. This light computer saves me a lot of energy in carrying and the battery power lasts. All of this comes with half price of a comparable Mac pro. Okay, the cons 1. the i3 cpu may not be as fast, 2.
Summary: I was looking for a slim, light weight laptop and this fits the bill. I also wanted Windows 7 as I have already sent back a computer that came with Windows 8 which I hated. This computer is quick and easy to use. It also has a very clear display as well as backlit keys which are awesome. The sound is much better on this laptop than any other I have had. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is that it does not have a DVD player/function.
Summary: This machine looks great and feels solid. Purchased on Amazon for a good price for the specs and ultrabook looks/size/weight. I thought the track pad was ultra sensitive because it does random things like make the cursor jump around and highlight blocks of text and erases them. I looked on line and this seems to be because the multitouch feature on the track pad doesn't work well. I haven't disabled it yet but plan to, hopefully this will take care of the problem.
