  • Summary: To be honest, I am actually pretty disappointed with this notebook. Although being the cheapest zenbook out there, I'd expect it to at least meet most of my expectations. This laptop feels cheap on the bottom, being thin and light I wouldn't expect it to not crack if you were to drop  it quite hard on the bottom since it feels like it's made out of cheap plastic. The aluminum finish is great both on the keyboard area and monitor.
  • Pros: -Good Specs For the price. 6GB ram, decently fast bootup., -Extremely light, -No bilingual keyboard, key layout is great., -Good brushed aluminum finish on the monitor and the area surrounding the keyboard., -Extremely small power brick, -Runs extremely cool after prolonged web browsing and some streaming., -The I/O has everything I need, including full size HDMI. Asus gives you a mini vga-full size adapter which is also a plus., -Silence
  • Cons: -It's not an IPS panel like it says in the description, that's for the Zenbook PRIME. Also, this has a 1366x768 monitor, you can notice some pixels especially near curves in the images., -Not fully aluminum, the bottom feels very thin and probably is plastic., -This does NOT include the accidental damage warrranty, despite the title heading stating it does, I still have the manual and box., -Webcam quality sucks, as with many laptops, I suggest buying a better one. Fair enough

  • Summary: Good value for our money. A little slow at times, I'd say it gets stuck more than a 4GB-RAM computer is expected to. Most likely that's down to the i3 processor. Just make your call: value, lower-performance i3 vs more expensive and higher performing processors.

  • Summary: I've heard bad comments about the keyboard, but I like it. So far, battery life has been acceptable. I wish it came with the case and ethernet adaptor.
  • Pros: solid construction, beautiful design, decent price
  • Cons: Didn't come with the case and USB ethernet adaptor shown in the picture. LOTS of bloatware.

good laptop, but has its issues

  • Summary: First the good; this laptop has a fantastic screen. Great resolution, excellent colors, wonderful display over all. It is light, looks nice, has a comfortable keyboard, good hand-rests when typing, resumes from sleep rapidly, stays cool while running, and (despite other reviews) the track-pad is just fine. The sounds is about what you'd expect from something so thin, but decent for all that.

Minor issues

AT121995, Amazon
8 September 2013
  • Summary: After about a weeks use of this laptop I have encountered some issues. The first problem I expereinced was the wifi. A few times a day I would be automatically disconnected from the internet even though I am about 5 feet away from my router. The second problem I had was the box. The box that my ultra book came in displayed another model of the machine. It was similar, but not the same.

I have only 1 problem with this unit

  • Summary: I've used this for about 6 months now. It does everything as advertised. Tight, looks great, well made and functions well. Battery life is good. Screen is perfect. Back lit keyboard helps on long flights. The one big issue is the trackpad. It's placed too far to the right. I'm an older guy who took typing class in middle school. Index fingers on "F" and "H" at all times and use every finger for typing. My right hand below my thumb kept touching the pad as I typed.

Would be nice if you didn't have to pay a fortune for the restore CD

  • Summary: I purchased this Zenbook for my wife as a gift. I've been swept up into the ultrabook hype and definitely like the thinner sizes associated with this. However, I would caution people with regards to upgrades and specs. It's very very difficult to find the exact specs for expansion. I had read somewhere that there was 2GB of memory onboard (true) and 2 memory slots to upgrade your memory (false).

  • Summary: This laptop is extremely lightweight, stylish, and fast. I'm actually impressed and have received a plethora of comments (all positive) and compliments on this laptop. The only downside is one, it is poorly built. My screen started becoming detached from my keyboard in a matter of 4-5 months of light usage. 2 is that it does not have a disk drive.
