Completely unreliable, BSOD, and Lots of Hard Drive Issues
30 July 2015
Summary: I've had this laptop for just over a year and as much as I wanted to love it, it has given me more issue than any other laptop I've ever owned. I've returned it to Asus every 4 months since owning it, and I am currently in need of returning it a 3rd time due to hard drive issues yet again.
Summary: For the price that Asus is charging for these Zenbooks, they should have a premier warranty pipeline in place to to keep their customer base happy. Instead I see epic failure.
Pros: Great size for travel. fast SSD's. Boots quick, Lightweight.
Cons: Hard Drive failed after 8 months. As a contractor, I use it to travel back and forth from US to other countries. And as a work computer. C-Partition failed with no warning. Fortunately I had backups of important data. Having trouble getting ASUS to take it and repair. This is the second ASUS note...
Summary: Nice machine. Showed up with 7% wear on the battery at first startup though, suggesting they are using refurbished batteries in "New" machines or the QA process is pretty poor. For a $2,000+ machine, it is totally unacceptable.
Summary: Its processor's fast, it never lags, the SSD makes it boot very quickly, it has a great screen, an amazing touchpad, and looks beautiful. But it's spacebar does have annoying squeak to it and one of my shift keys is somehow lower than all my others. Spec wise, it beat every ultrabook when I got it.
For these reason I would not recommend this product

Summary: Computer, when running, runs well. It is fast, sleek and very responsive. I had issues right away with the computer shutting itself down, especially when going into sleep, then not turning back on properly.
Great design, questionable hardware, serious support failings

Summary: I rarely give bad reviews. This is my third Asus ultrabook. I bought it in December 2013 and was pretty excited. There are plenty of other reviews that cover the pros -- the screen is amazing, the battery life is unbeatable, it's lightweight, and very, very fast.
Summary: I REALLY wanted to like this machine. I'm not a computer novice; I've had various laptops over many years and generally have had good luck with them. I had a terrific ASUS EEE-PC for a few years, so I'm not even against ASUS. I bought this Zenbook about 45 days ago.
Summary: Disappointed for the price. Had a UA-31X prior and this falls way, way short. Keyboard is plastic and flimsy (delete key floats like it didn't fit in its setting), gets extremely hot along the bottom and speakers, and it feels fragile.
