  • Summary: As a laptop, the Asus Zenbook UX301 has few significant faults on paper. The series easily sits near the top ultrabooks, though Asus' mixed customer support keeps it a step behind this tier. Still, thanks to its excellent specifications and build quality, the UX301 has a lot to offer as both a business and mainstream ultrabook.
  • Pros: The Asus Zenbook UX301 features excellent specifications and a high-capacity hard drive.
  • Cons: Asus' phone support agents can be extremely inconsistent.

Asus gives the Zenbook UX301 a higher-res touch screen

CNET
20 January 2014
  • Summary: Asus was one of the first PC makers to go ultra-thin with its Zenbook line. That latest UX301 version packs in nearly every high-end spec you'd want, but it's priced out of reach for most, and lacks an all-day battery.
  • Pros: The Asus Zenbook UX301 packs in a lot, including a better-than-HD touch screen, big 256GB SSD, and Core i7 processor, in a slim, smart design.
  • Cons: It costs more than most comparable better-then-HD laptops, including the Retina MacBook Pro. The Zenbook doesn't feel as rugged as its price warrants, and its battery life is unimpressive.

ASUS Zenbook UX301 Review

LAPTOP Magazine
6 December 2013
  • Summary: Va-va-voom! ASUS is turning heads with the Zenbook UX301 for all the right reasons. We love the new blue Gorilla Glass lid (even if you need a polish rag at all times). The Intel Core i7 processor Iris Graphics and dual SSDs make this Ultrabook one of the prettiest workhorses we've had the pleasure of using. However, for a fairly steep $1,973, we'd hope for wider viewing angles on the sharp QHD display.

Review Asus Zenbook Infinity UX301LA Ultrabook

Notebookcheck
2 October 2013
  • Summary: Dark beauty. It's small. It's a premium product. And it's fast. We almost don't dare to call the new Zenbook UX301 an "ultrabook", as it attempts to be much more than that: the perfect mobile companion. With the top-notch materials, great build quality and high-end innards of its newest flagship; Asus wants to dethrone its fiercest competitor, Apple. The price point? That topic almost becomes a minor matter.
  • Pros: Slim case, premium materials, Superb input devices, High CPU performance, Extremely fast SSD RAID system, Bright, high-resolution display, Great connectivity options, Decent battery life, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Great-looking, fast and highly mobile - the newest Zenbook packs more punch than some full-sized desktop replacement systems, and it does so within a tiny package. Its build quality is absolutely top-notch.
  • Cons: Reflective display surface, Mediocre webcam, Limited expandability, Expensive, Not that much, actually - except for a lower price point. 1800 Euros is almost on par with a similarly-speced MacBook Pro 13 with Retina display.

Asus Zenbook Prime UX301LA review

expertreviews.co.uk
4 February 2014
  • Excerpt: Asus's Zenbook laptops have always been desirable, but the UX301LA is easily the most elegant Ultrabook we've ever seen. The metallic finish on the UX301LA’s crystalline glass lid looks remarkably beautiful and its super slim chassis measures just 15.5mm when closed and weighs a mere 1.38kg. Fortunately, Asus has taken great care to ensure the UX301LA’s beauty isn’t just skin-deep, as it’s the first laptop in the world to use Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect its lid.
