Summary: I needed a laptop/notebook computer for a Computer Networking Degree that I am working on. I did not realize what I was getting for the money when I bought my notebook. It is a fast booting, secure, facial recognition login, with 1 HDMI port, 3 USB 2.0 ports and 1 USB 3,0 port (which is super fast with my Seagate 3TB external drive that uses the USB 3.0 port. I would recommend this ASUS to anyone looking for a high quality device that is loaded with features.
Summary: First off, this was a replacement for an HP covered under an extended warranty from BB. I was given a full replacement price voucher applied to any PC from them. I paid $649.00 from B.Buy onlne Marketplace seller w/ free shipping. I didn't want Win 8 and was after a PC with the Win 7 OS of which this has (home premium ver.). i5 3rd gen is excellent. Blu-ray multi format reader writer is excellent. Have burned much with it.
Summary: I really like the ASUS laptop. The keyboard is nice...not to stiff. The one thing I don't care for (and the description wasn't too clear!) is that nearly 1/2 of the hard drive is partitioned for a Data partition! I was told that ASUS would walk me through repartitioning the drive but they won't do it. They say they don't want to be responsible for any data loss...so they give you a link to instructions on their Website to do it yourself.
Summary: It was time for a new laptop. My wife has an Asus which is several years old and has a 15 inch screen. I liked her laptop so I researched this model with a larger screen. I love the larger screen. I'm no computer expert by any means but I really like the features and preformance of this unit. The only mistake I made was trying to use a third party migration program to move everything from Windows 7 32bit (old computer) to Windows 7 64 bit (new computer)..
Summary: Does it all as you expect. Fast, easy no, freeze issue, much HD memory, All features work excellent, great monitor lighting and felxibility on many features. Only issue is the capitol lock indicator not easy to be seen located left side on the width of the keyboard rather than some place seen obviously.
Summary: Just bought this on Amazon a couple weeks ago. First impressions are lackluster - this laptop looks generic, devoid of any really refined style aesthetically. Simply, it looks cheap. I was disappointed that the screen was glossy - more reflection than my eyes care to deal with - matte would have been much better. One of the reviews I had read somewhere else online had mentioned a backlit keyboard, but alas, my unit sported no such thing.
