Summary: Bought this for my son, but the headphone jack did not work. We kept it for a couple of weeks and realize that we could not deal with it. My son also complained that it would often and suddenly update in the middle of him working on it. He would have to wait until it rebooted before he could continue working. We decided to return it.
Summary: I ordered this computer to use exclusively for homeschooling. Within the second week it started shutting off and having rebooting issues. I returned it and reordered the same computer. I have had the second one a week and it has shut off. Can't reboot. States it is a recovery fatal error and to contact the manufacturer. I am returning for a full refund.
Summary: I've owned this machine for less than a week and the touchpad has gone defective. I've done some research, which I should have done before the purchase, and found that this is a common failure for this machine. I wish I had something good to say about this machine but unfortunately, I'm unhappy in general with the performance regardless of the touchpad failure.
Summary: Mouse pad totally stopped working after 35 days. This is the 2nd Asus I bought just like this one and the same problem occurred. I had an external mouse that left me try to get the mouse pad working again and the entier computer began to crash. I highly recommend avoid this computer at all costs!
Summary: It took a bit to get used to Windows 8, after all, change is hard at first. I do like it now, and the computer itself is very nice, especially for older eyes. I find the larger screen is a big plus and the keys do not seem less responsive than the others I have had (only reason I hesitated on buying when I read a few reviews). I am happy with my purchase.

Summary: Had this computer for less than a month and it continually has had backlight issues making it impossible to see the screen. I called ASUS support for help and they actually made the problem worse. Not only were they unable to fix it over the phone, the call center rep told me to "refresh" windows. I did as instructed and it deleted all my programs!!!! He did NOT tell me to back up nor did he warn me what "refresh" meant.
