Summary: The color is weird, you really have to spend some time adjusting the hue and the saturation. The key board does not feel good. The screen is clear and bright, too bright, you have to adjust it to low light. The processor is good. the machine is quiet.
Summary: I procured this laptop for a computer course I was doing. But I must say, it has been more than a school laptop. The screen size makes it easy to watch movies. Bluray movies play without any lag. All Microsoft Office programs operate without having to wait for loading.
Summary: I ordered this almost 1 1/2 years ago. When I received it I immediately removed Windows and installed Ubuntu Linux. It has been running without any issues since that time. The touch pad mouse is a little crazy when I am using a Word Processor such as Open Office.
Summary: My 2 complaints with this are: 1. indicator lights for caps lock & num lock are in the front edge of the computer which requires moving your body to see if they are lit or off 2. the SD card slot is under the front lip of the computer & requires a tweezer to remove it.
Horrible customer service. Pray you don't have problems.

Summary: ASUS has the single worst customer service and warranty program I have ever had to deal with. If you do buy their product, you'd better pray that you don't have any problems with it, because you won't get any help from ASUS. In the year that I had one of their laptops, mine broke down 5 times.
Best 17" laptop for around $500. Great Screen and keyboard!

Summary: Very quick to boot up and shut down or go into Hibernate/Sleep mode. Wakes up from Sleep mode VERY fast. Windows 8 has taken a little getting used to. This is the second ASUS laptop that I have owned.
