Summary: The only strike against this laptop is the touchpad: there's no updated drivers for it that I can find, it appears to be a 'known issue' that Symantec hasn't pushed it out; as a result, touch motions for scrolling don't work and you're not able to disable it (at least not through Linux, as I wiped...
Summary: This is a great machine. The other reviews are pretty accurate; I often use a mouse to make some desktop oriented tasks easier, but when on the go, laying down or otherwise oriented for lap and non desktop position, i tolerate the quirks of the touch pad.
Summary: I bought this laptop for my daughter for her to use for school and entertainment, she loves it. Clear and bright screen allows her to watch YouTube and movies, and the only thing she would change about the laptop is the sound quality, she says it doesn't sound that good.
Summary: This particular computer I've gotten needs constantly to be reset every time I go to use it. It will not recognize my pass word and stays locked until it is rebooted. Not very pleased with it.
Summary: Great 17" Laptop. I have used these personal for my Office and they work well. Great performance with Intel Core i7-4700 processor and I was able to drop in a 500GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD, and now it's even faster. If you are needing something with a larger screens, take a look at this one.
Summary: i loved this machine, powerful fast and big enough for me not to need a desktop and a separate monitor yet have all the speed and storage. the screen quality was perfect, all the right and needed connection are available.
Excellent Laptop/Desktop Replacement, A Couple Minor Glitches.

Summary: It's pretty fast and really big. I replaced my Gateway NV79 with this. That computer had an Intel core-i5 430M processor. Compared to that it's much lighter, much better resolution, capable of multitasking better and is the same size. Why the 4 stars?
hardware is excellent for the price, MS Win 8.1 sucks.

Summary: the hardware is excellent. the system is delivered with 2 main partitions on the 1tb hard disk. on C:[~450gb] is a horrible installation of MS Windows 8.1 that required over 128 updates that took over 2 hours to complete. upgrading to 8.1 pro costs $99 or $199.
Summary: The mouse pad is horrible. The cursor jumps all over the place while typing. Sometimes all of a sudden half of what you just typed disappears and you have to use undo in order to get it back. I took the laptop to a gal to help get my files off of an old laptop and a bad ext.
