Pros: I bought this laptop on promo for 340.00 and what a steal. Sure a I5 would of been nice, but the 2.4ghz I3 is fast enough. The sound quality isnt the best, but it works for most uses. Needs more memory then the 4mb it comes with, so you'll want to add 4mb more. Even though this is one of asus's cheaper models, it seems sound and sturdy.
Cons: Needs more memory, top does not have locking clips to hold it closed, Touch pad is a bit touchy, might be me. windows 8 takes a bit to get used too
Summary: The screen feels a little loose, especially if you pick it up with the screen open, so just be careful with it.
Pros: **Please Note** When I bought this laptop, it was on sale for $339.99, so obviously it was a much better "bang for you buck" at the time. Keep in mind that the things I list as pros will likely not seem as significant if you are paying a much higher price for this laptop. Now with that said, here's what I think.
Cons: Not too much to say here. There was a light scratch on the frame around the camera, but it's hardly noticeable.
Summary: Very good for the price! The other reviewers must be crazy. I think this is a perfect college computer or if you need it for light to medium use. I mean, this is no laptop for hardcore use. But, it is very suitable for everything else. Windows 8 can take some time to adjust but it gets really easy. I wish there were better hotkeys, too. Oh, the speakers are nothing special. But, all these drawbacks are to be expected with an inexpensive computer.
Pros: Does everything i need from a laptop and more! Great design, easy to upgrade and geat price (shellshocker). With kingston hyper x 120gb ssd that i got for $70 (shellshocker) and i took out the dvd drive and replaced it with the stock 500gb hdd. This thing is a beast and for a total of $410 after upgrades
Cons: Windows 8 is aweful but I "downgraded" to Windows 7. Keyboard and trackpad are a litle awkward to the touch but nothing to complain about.
