it is a good laptop, but the manufacturers support was a bit ...

Summary: After having the laptop for about 30 days, the speakers suddenly stopped working. (I'm not the type of person to blast their music either). When I contacted Asus about repairs or returning it, they sent me in circles. In the end I decided that it wasn't worth the hassle to run in circles. Besides the speakers, the Asus X55A works well. It is able to handle my intensive web usage without slowing down and does not lag when I play League of Legends.
Summary: The laptop itself seems to be ok (bought for wife as gift). Windows 8 is a pain in ass to navagate through. I she would have told me at first how she hated it, I would have probably returned it. I think we will install windows 7 on it.
Summary: I bought this laptop because of the low price but was really disappointed at how slow it is. My 4 yr old desk top pc is probably 3-4 times as fast as this laptop. I wonder if I uninstall a bunch of the unneeded programs if it will speed it up some?
Summary: I am not completely satisfied with this computer. The most annoying part is that the speakers on the bottom on the sound so if you ever have it on your lap, the sound is MUCH quieter and muffled. Also, I kept the virus protection with the computer but I have already had a virus even though it is a month old. I do understand how some say that the clicking noise is loud but it isnt something I notice any more so not a big factor.
